I just bought a 1GB SD card (Lexar). I formatted it in my i885, but I can't get any media on it. Every time I try, I get the error message "media is write protected". I went into the card and tried to take off the "read only", but whenever I close the window and reopen it, the read only box is rechecked. Did I get a bad card, or am I just missing something?

Exactly what are you trying to put on the SD? You need to check to make sure the "media" itself is not protected. ie a song from itunes or something..

I'm trying to put music on it, but it does the same thing when I try to put a picture on it. No matter what, it comes up write protected. I can't even copy anything over from the phone to the card.
Are you aware there's a writeprotect switch on the card itself? It should be up as shown in the picture.
You are truly a genius, and I owe you a beer for that one. I never knew about the switch, and of course it was in the wrong position. Now, everything is working great.
