With lots of people migrating to AT&T (via iPhone or other equipment), and AT&T having the largest wireless (and global) calling community, Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Calling and Messaging (and perhaps an AT&T Unity Plan) would be most desired.
$60 for iPhone 450 and an additional $5 for Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Messaging is my desired plan.
Or... Will I have to add to an iPhone plan the 200 Messaging Plan with Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Messaging for $10? At this point, I might as well consider the 1500 Text Message or Unlimited Text Message plans designed for iPhone.
Finally... I wonder if I can get my desired plan by going to an AT&T Store now and activating "an existing customer plan" so that I can retain the $5 Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Messaging option.

Reason: Added Discussion of 200 Message Text Messaging Plan with Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Messaging for $10
no they dont...data and text messaging is combined into one plan now.
$20 Unlimited data / 200 text
$30 UD / 1500 text
$40 UD / Unlimted text
That's it for text messaging....no other plans or anything it is combined with data now
Those are the exact same plans as the MediaMax plans. They've always been like that; it didn't just start now. Even with the mediamax plans there's a $5 add on to any of them that gives you unlimited ATT messaging. No offense Jasper, but I'm not sure you quite know what you're talking about.

I just read through the new 65 page sales guide on boygeniusreports. it looks like you can add mtm sms by calling ATT after activation. You can also switch to a unity plan by calling...most interestingly, there's a new option for unlimited international data which said pricing to-be-announced -- i think. woo hoo! only 19 more hours!

Any clue if this unlimited M2M messaging would include texts sent to the 265000 (and others) AIM short codes?
If so I can pay just $5/mo for this instead of $20/mo. I want my unlimited AIM! . Used in the iChat like SMS app on iphone, ittl be virtually like apple put real iChat on here!
Just called AT&T, and was told that the $5 unlimited messaging can NOT be added to an iPhone data plan. Can anyone confirm this? I do not yet have an iPhone, so I can't find out for sure.
I can confirm that it is in fact not true. That rep just didn't know what he/she was doing. After I activated mine I called in to get the $25 plan which is the iPhone data with 200 messages and unlimited mobile to mobile messaging. I called in 3 times to verify that I had this on both my lines. I just wish I could log into OLAM to be extra sure.
