Reports coming in on MacRumors that EDGE is down on iPhones... I can confirm, I haven't been able to get any EDGE data all morning. I'm in Tucson, AZ. Users from Philadelphia, LA, Sacramento, and Washington have all reported the same thing. iPhone users - can you connect and get data via EDGE? (Simple test is to turn WiFi off, and open the weather widget - does it refresh?).
I just posted a new thread about this because I was experiencing the same issues. I rebooted my phone and it said that "EDGE could not be activated." Hopefully they fix this soon.
I was just in the apple store in Albany, NY looking at the iPhone. I wanted to see how slow EDGE really is (since I have EVDO with Verizon now). I turned off Wifi and EDGE was working. Wasn't as slow as I expected.
Failed update on the weather here in Pittsburgh. Must be down around here.
Funny you posted this. I was just trying to check my email a few minutes ago on my iphone, and it didnt update. LOL. I just turned off WiFi to see if I can increase my somewhat dismal battery life on my phone. Guess I am turning wifi back on for the time being! LOL
Why would it matter. If EDGE is down it should afffect all EDGE capable phones
Why would it matter? Not sure, but reports from Pennsylvania, California, Arizona, Texas and Washington all report users being able to use EDGE on their non-iPhone devices, but unable to use EDGE on their iPhones.
