Ever since the first AD2P headsets came out I have most ignored them since they were always big and awkward and I never used any of my phones as MP3 players before. Now that the iPhone is my main phone I use it as my main music player in the car and while a working out or riding. After reading about people who had success with the iCombi AD2P bluetooth adapter for the iPod on the iPhone I decided to buy one. For $50 it was a small price to pay to see if it really worked as people have been saying. I also picked up the Motorola s9 bluetooth headset. I plugged the iCombi into the iPhone and after the typical warning about how it was not designed for the iPhone, and a quick pairing of the headset, I was instantly listening to music wirelessly.
The iCombi only adds only a tiny bit of bulk to the iPhone and since the iPhone is usually in a bag or pocket I really wouldn't even notice it. A small blue light flashes when you are connected. The iCombi is also as thin as the iPhone which really makes adding it to the phone a non factor.
The S9 is a really nice headset. Volume control, Play/Pause. FF, and REW all work as does answering a call. If you have been looking for a way to remotely control the iPhone while it is tucked away this headset works perfectly.
All in all I have to say that I will never go back to a wired headset now that I have had a taste of the power of AD2P. Apple really missed the boat not including this on the iPhone. Its the perfect application for this technology. Hopefully a firmware update will unlock this ability since my understanding is the bluetooth chip supports the protocol.

I bought the S9 and Moto's D650 BT adapter in a package. The D650 will not work with the iphone however. I have read many posts about Icombi's success, are you guys doing anything specific or do you just plug it in and it works right away? I got a good deal at frys. I paid for the S9 and the D650 for the price of the S9 alone. The D650 works great on my ipod.
Yeah, the scosche BT transmitter doesnt work for the iphone either.
I just got the Cerulean TX/RX transmitter/receiver and it works with the iphone. Just plug it in and it works. I'm currently using it with my Sony BT car headunit to listen to music in my car.
Im looking at this thing over on the Oakley site but I dont understand how it connects? Does it connect to the bottom?

It sounds like you need to pair the Moto S9. The best advice is to follow the Moto S9 directions Exactly. When you pair the Moto S9 be sure to turn off the iPhone bluetooth. You only need to do that the very first time though. After that it won't matter.
I have the Infinixx adapter and Motorola's HT820 and it works great. The only thing you have to do after pairing is to make sure the headphones are on first before you plug in the adapter in the phone otherwise it will not see the headphones.
