Nokia 6300b | How to revert from RM-217 to RM-222 (v.4.71)

Hi,

I have a 6300b from Fido (Canada) and it came with the following parameters :
Code:
Product Code : 0548621 Nokia 6300 V 04.71 28-02-07 RM-222 Language: V 04.71 28-02-07 RM-217

I have done a Full Factory restore using NSS and have lost the # key for silence/normal mode toggle. I did get the Mp3 ringtones, email client, PTT and a second IM icon though.

I just want to know if it's possible to revert back what I have done. And possibly detailed steps since I'm pretty new in modding cellphones

Thanks !

you should have done a search for the multiple threads already answering this question.

no you cant get it back to rm222
some people have randomly had it revert when they updated the 217 software but many have not.

and you should get the # back when you update the s/w

Yes this was the answer I was expected. I had found a few posts here and there, but wanted to ask in case some wizard found a solution.

Thanks plugged.in!

i used product code (uk one) 0537621
once updated thru NSU it updated to 5.5 AND reverted back to RM-222, with ALL fido stuff back (ie. no more mp3, but hey, WMA is good i guess..., FIDO at start up, etc)
you lose PTT and the other IM icons

I'm keepin' it like this!

I had the same problem after upgrading to sw 5.50.

I got it back after doing a series of different types of resets in NSS, followed by using reset codes from the keypad, followed by reset codes from the menu... then I finally managed to get the shortcut key reset to the way it was before

I've lost the clock on the standby screen and hasn't been able to get that back though.

the clock setting is not a problem in the firmware, you can re-activate the clock like this:

menu -> settings -> time and date -> time -> clock. (change "hide clock" to "digital")

Hope this helps, I'm still using 4.71 so it might be a different problem..

On my Fido 6300B when I use factory reset it restore the functionality of the # key, until I reset again.
