Velocity Mobile - WM 6.1, Triband HSUPA, Wifi, TV-Out, VGA
Apparently the devices will be made by Inventec. There is a non-qwertybar with VGA resolution, and a qwertybar, but the resolution of that device is unclear.
I'm in the Velocity Mobile booth. These devices are DEAD SEXY! Sleek form factor, touch screen+QWERTY, VGA display on the non-QWERTY device, HSDPA/HSUPA, GPS, Qualcomm graphics acceleration, TV/VGA out. These devices are top of the line -- but priced to sell extremely well.
Those of you who wanted a POWERFUL QWERTY-bar device with touch screen, look no further than the Velocity 111!
Fire away with questions; I have Velocity executives standing right next to me.

The Non-QWERTY has a flush screen like the Touch Cruise?
I see the QWERTY device has angle bezel like my current phone, which is not bad. This phone looks like a Blackberry, I kind of dig it. Would love to see some live pics.

I could be wrong, I haven't seen or touched the device to know how sexy and sleek they are.
I assume that these are the devices that you were under NDA, and you couldn't talk about till now, correct?
So please do tell, and do share pics and anything else.
Also, what "priced extremely well" mean, really?
Low $500's, $600's?
Their website is still pretty bare with info, so any input is appreciated
2.46" on the 111 screen?!!! AYFKM. I HATE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry )Seriously are we going to smaller screens now? Urban you tell those people at that booth there to orient that screen to portrait and put it back to at least a proper 2.8". Then shave off some other areas. C'mon man. I've got to look at that thing every day and my eyes aren't getting any better...
Allow me to go off on a tangent please.
All these manufacturing places are really really trying to orient the screens on these qwertybars in landscape. Mainly I'm thinking because they want to emulate a "monitor" experience or be more cinematic. I dunno. But what is the "main use" of a Windows Mobile Device? Productivity? Well how would you hold a small tablet of paper if you were taking notes or reading? Portrait. And I understand that people do use their devices for multimedia/videos/web browsing. And it really is quite simple to tilt your hand sideways and have it in landscape. While at the same time you retain the overall(keyword) small form factor. The BenQ P series had it right. And I think if they would have stayed in the game they could have easily shaved off more of the overall size while retaining the same size screen/dpad/keyboard. Imate is coming out with a portrait orientied device but alas the screen is 2.6". WTF But that is their fault, that bezel is huge. I gotta edit a couple photos again. I thought after a year or two someone would get it out there but I guess not. Windows Mobile Standard might be able to work on a 2.4" screen but not Windows Mobile Professional. We deserve a large screen whilst retaining a small form factor. They just need to design better. IMHO.

I guess depending on the price, these might be good options. But as it stands, the Velocity Mobile 111 looks to be inferior to something like the HP 914.

There has yet to be a newly introduced Pocket PC Phone at a "good price" IMHO. They all seem to think they deserve to be at $600+ U.S. dollars. When will we see a new, capable, desirable, uncontracted WinMoPro phone at $299?

other than possibly price, how in any way is this inferior to the HP?
