My New Curve "Creaks"

This is my first blackberry ever. I have a 8320 Curve.

Purchased it brand new, no contract, and of course its not cheap.

The left side of the phone (near the send key, q key, a key) it creaks and I can see the plastic moving down onto the phone...

Is this normal? Is my unit bad? Should I request an exchange?

I haven't even had it for 24 hours and I noticed this within the first 15 minutes.

Hi Ryan: I ordered a batch of 25 of them bad boys for one of our new teams. 5 of them had that same problem.

I would definitely ask for a replacement ASAP before something else happens to it and they decline to honor the exchange.

If you got it in-store, exchange it there so you can test it before going home with it.

Also be aware that dust will get in under the screen cover on the right hand side. Has happened to all of my Curves.

I want to exchange it but I dont want to be without a phone again, or wait so long to bounce back with UPS... hmm...

I did stick a piece of paper (4 fold) under the battery on the side with the problem and it seemed to really help.

My curve was made in Hungary, not Mexico or Canada like most people experience...

My 8320 creaked too. I just went and got the 8820. So much better built I cant stress that enough. The curve from last night just felt too plasticky. The 8820 is like a tank compared to it, screams professional too .

Mine creaks too at the exact same spot. Poor design flaw by RIM, I must say.

Oh well, just waiting for the Bold to come out and I'm gonna replace the Curve with it.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8820: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.1.11355/308; U; en))

The bold mixes the features of the curve with the build of the 88xx series which is just perfect. Now RIM just release the phone!

The issue seems to have been fixed with the 8330. I had an 8320 with T-Mobile and it had the same issues however my 8330 is very sturdy.

My VZW 8330 does the same thing. Hopefully it won't lead to anything worse. I need my Curve to work for two years.
