AT&T 3G Network Meltdown: Which markets are being affected?
So far we know the NYC tri-state area is being affected by a barely working 3G data network. Another report was posted from Washington DC claiming below EDGE speeds and all happened just after the massive release of 3G iPhones to the public.
Are there any other markets being affected? Please post where you're from and what speeds you're getting on 3G.
Here's my speed test using my Sierra Wireless 875 aircard. Upload compression was detected so it's off.
Again with Speedtest.net. Upload compression is making the test way off.
Location: Waianae, Hawaii (O'ahu).

I was here in San Antonio Texas and I did notice the 3G network seem a little slower than usual still today. This was in town in places where it is usually consistently fast.
3g data is sucking rather hard in the boston area for me...
flactuating speeds ranging from 55kbits/s to 500kbits/s while mostly staying at 100-200kbits/s range.

If the new iphone is bringing the 3G data network to its knees it sure suggests there weren't too many 3G phones using data until now.

Business as usual in Dallas.. Granted we were one of the original test markets for 3g about 3 years ago so our footprint's more established then a lot of other markets.. I think we sell maybe 3 or 4 non 3g phones in our store out of the 25 or so.

i was only getting 200Kbps today, then up to 500kbps. i always get 1.2Mbps daily here, so its definitely slower. however i went up about 15 miles in the middle of nowhere on 3g and hit 1.1Mbps. maybe i'll move up there in the desert

When I was in Ukiah today (8 miles south of me) I maxed out at 700 kbps on 3G, usually I can hit at least 1 mbps, sometimes 2 mbps. This is a former Edge Wireless now AT&T area, Bobo knows that though I am about 4 miles beyond the 3G coverage, so I only have EDGE at my place in Redwood Valley, I can get around 150-170 kbps with that.
Edit-They are still broadcasting Edge's MNC up here, 310-09, and the billing systems haven't been integrated yet, so I'm not sure whether a meltdown would affect the network up here at the present time. They have 3G iPhones in the AT&T store in Ukiah (as well as all the other former Edge stores in NorCal), so we could still be affected by those.

Now at 12 am, I am getting a constant 450kbps on my iPhone 3G. But during the day I get nothing but 50-100kbps. Hope it is better tomorrow.
