LG Dare battery life horrible - Bluetooth?

So I just picked up an LG Dare yesterday. It was fully charged when I went to bed, and about 8 hours later it's showing only 2 out of 4 bars on the battery life. I do have Bluetooth on, but discovery mode is off. This can't possibly be right can it? Or do you need to charge/discharge a new phone/battery several times before the battery holds a full charge, etc?

I have my bluetooth on at all times and I get great battery life. I do use a bluetooth 2.0 headset, though, and get around 4 hours of talk time. You should empty out the battery fully and recharge it fully, again. It only took me once to cycle my battery. Good luck.

With new phones/batteries it takes at least a few charging cycles before the battery really gets to its potential. Also, changing signal strength can have quite an effect on batteries--so if for some reason there was something going on that night with the 1X or EV-DO signal in your area, or you usually have a pretty weak signal in general where you are, that can contribute to battery use quite a bit.

I consider myself an average cell phone user and i get at least 2-3 days battery life before i have to charge it. This is also having bluetooth on all the time.

One of the strong points of the DARE is the Battery life.

I get great battery life out of mine.
I charged it up fully the first time and it works fine.
I surfed the internet on it for two hours and watching youtube and it was only a little below half empty after.

I will have to agree... my battery life has been great. Days before recharging. Even after taking pictures and video, it hardly drains.

Exactly as #6 said.. one of the big pros of the DARE is the battery life.. you in a weak signal area? Thats the fastest way to kill a battery..

Great battery life here as well. I can go a couple of days without charging even when using bluetooth for almost all my calls, texting, and using the web browser. This phone gets the best battery life of any phone I've used on Verizon.

This phone has given me the best battery life out of any phone I have owned without a doubt. I just cycled it once and won't need to charge it for several days.

I'm having problems with short battery life also. I'm wondering if the 8gb card has anything to do with this? I remember when Palm Pilots started having card slots for sd cards the battery drained more quickly if the card was in.

I can charge my Dare overnight, unplug it and not use it much except for a few calls and a couple of minutes on the Web, and by afternoon it's already showing 3 bars instead; half an hour on the Web drops it down to one or two.

I tried turning off bluetooth when I'm not using it and that didn't make a difference.

I'm in an area with a strong signal.
