Alltel Hue II - SCH-r600

Just go the launch kit for the Hue II. Still has changeable faceplates, the music player now has external controls, and it adds a 2MP Camera!

Pretty cool looking. And are those INDIVIDUAL KEYS instead of a flat keypad like the Hue?

Also, does the outside display only have clock or does it have a background behind the time? Looks like it's got the battery, signal, ringer type, etc. within a bar at the top so maybe it's got an image underneath the time?

yes they are individual keys, nice and big too! Also, there is not an image underneath the time, it's just like the R430's outer display.

Sweet thanks! An outside image isn't a biggie for me, but BIG and INDIVIDUAL keys are very nice! Depending on how much it is prepaid it might be my next phone.

Any idea on a launch date?

Just got our dummy kit. The 600 is nice, thinner than the 500. 2mp camera is nice. Can't wait to play with one, activated.

Does it have an external antenna port?

The original Hue has one under the backplate. I just got two of them the other day, and the agent at the store didn't believe me that there was an antenna port under one of those two little silver stickers (mine had stickers, not the rubber plugs I'm used to seeing with the Motorola's). His info showed it uses one of the stick-on induction type adapters. I told him which direct connection adapter it took (IAC057) and he got one out and sure enough, it fit. HOFO should be required reading for all agents!

The big buttons will be a hit with those looking for a basic handset, like people with arthritic hands and/or vision challenges. I envision selling a few to the senior set!
