Administrative Charge Increasing Jan 1...

Saw this in my bill...

Administrative Charge
Effective Jan. 1, 2009, the Administrative
Charge will increase to $0.99 per line. For
details on surcharges, please see Sprint Terms
& Conditions or visit sprint.com/taxesandfees

Also...

Picture Mail Changes
Effective January 2009, customers without a
plan which includes Picture Mail will now be
able to send and receive Picture Mail
messages and pay just $0.20 for each
message sent or received. Online web storage
of picture/video media is only available for
customers with a Picture Mail plan.

That top one makes me wonder...ETF waiver...?

I believe that since the charge is 'optional' (Sprint doesn't HAVE to charge it), unfortunately it may be ETF waiver capable...

I say unfortunately because people already abuse Sprint so much that I do not want to see them get hurt even further (loss of subs or people cancel then come back for cheaper phone/plan).

Or if people don't use it as a means to leave early, they may use it as a way to get more freebies or something in order to get them to stay.

Nextel was a thriving culture within a company and Sprint SINGLE HANDILY DESTROYED IT. You try to pick up the pieces and move on, but sometimes it's just not quite that simple. When you watch something you LOVE so much die such a painful death, it makes moving on IMPOSSIBLE.

Damn right. Both of you.

O, and of course, here we go again about the casual data charges on Picture Mail issue. I just CAN'T WAIT until those bills start coming in. I'll believe the Casual Data Charges on Picture Mail (without a Vision package) flaw is fixed WHEN I SEE IT.

Nope, Sprint no longer gives freebies for this kind of situation. If a person is VERY LUCKY, Sprint might leave the fee the way it is for them.

Not going to happen, but many will try. Sprint has covered their rear end with the loop holes.

Please explain. I see that this could be a suitable plan.

Doing a new line will require a new contract which everyone knows, and in that contract the changes that happen on 1/08 are covered within.

Is there an updated subscriber contract on Sprint's website that states the increase in admin fees?

If contested in court, Sprint would lose that battle.

Honestly I'm getting sick of the fees hike. This is now the third sine I got the service in 2006. This isn't cable, people!

What were the changes that took effect on 1/08? They allow Sprint to hike their fees at any time? Does this apply to contracts that were signed BEFORE 1/08? I signed mine in 7/07. I've since moved and my call signal is often poor where I now live and work, so I'm looking to move to another provider. But that $200 ETF is awfully painful...
