The Tao/Sholes that a "highball" from Verizon showed me about 3 weeks ago had 1.6 Donut running on it. As being an Android Developer you must be able to filter out bs that is made up by people that spread rumors. This phone is running Donut. This phone most likely won't drop until November so it's steam can be built up for higher sales during the holidays. Questions? Just ask..

Ok, so it won't be released with Eclair.
1) Will it be OpenGL ES 2.0 capable on release?
2) Any information regarding the CPU/GPU combo?
3) If it's coming before holidays (late Nov early Dec), how will it not be running Eclair? Could it be possible that the one you saw 3 weeks ago had Donut because, simply put, Eclair isn't just ready?
4) Will it have MotoBlur?

Here is current info from someone who actually has the newest H/W. Fact is it is not running Donut seeing as the info is wks old posted above. this is info from is as of this AM. And no it will not have Blur. That is Moto Andriod UI, and this device is being released as a google experience device so it can't have Blur.

-Any chance the verizon network won't be able to handle the network load of these types of phones (anything is better than ATT)
-will the big app makers finally turn to Android for the better apps (navigation, the best fart apps)
-will it come out too late for my 2 year upgrade to be used effectively (not likely, Verizon lags hard and only takes on phones after months tuning)
Verizon will not Gimp the OS of the phone, Motorola will be designing their UI. This is said to be a Google Experience phone so they cannot change much when it comes to Googles OS ref model. Verizon Wireless joined the Open Source Alliance so the only thing I can think of them possibly "crippling" is the GPS functionality due to networks Apps like VZNavigator, Vcast, etc. A solid version of Android 2.0 will probably come late December unless there is a hold back. Verizon's Network will be able to handle the phone perfectly fine due to the fact that it isn't on a crappy network like the American GSM networks (AT&T & T-Mobile) and for the last question it depends when your NE2 is due.

They won't cripple GPS on this device. they have been unlocking it on some of there older units with firmware updates recently. And as we've seen by the pics already using google maps it really couldn't be crippled I wouldn't think.
