I think the mini is just another example of Nokia making you choose. The only things that I see the mini having over the original is the size and the memory.
I dont think the the loss of battery life is worth the reduction of size.
I can see Mini users complaining about poor battery life in a few months. (after all, the more memory you have, the more applications people will have running all the time, burning battery)
I also dont want to lose my FM transmitter feature. I didnt think this was a big deal when I bought it. I had used other FM transmitters with ipods, etc. and had mixed experiences with them. But the N97 transmitter works really well in both my car and my truck. I use it more than I thought.

My N97 poos on the Mini. I do like that C: better, but it's a non-issue since v20. Have added a bunch more apps, had a heavy email weekend and haven't cleared the cache since the update and still at 43M free. I've even installed a few ringtones and themes to C: since I felt that was a better spot.
Don't ignore the other end of the spectrum, nokia. Gimme the N97 Mega (N810 sized) with the N86 camera module, please.

Why don't buy Lemons and post how goods are lemons in their own thread or post about why more acid is nicer in the debate thread.

+1 on all.
totally agree about the FM trans. it's really incredible, actually, that they managed to get it to work so well. and unlike other apps, it's integrated quite well, don't have to dig through menus to get it.
also agree on the battery. the N97 battery is already, as i've discovered, not that long-lasting at 1500mHa. if i were to use a Mini the same way i'm using the N97, i'd have to charge *before* the day is out. for anyone considering themselves "power users" w/the Mini, this is going to be a problem, i predict.
size-wise: just lemme say the N97 screen is nice -- but it ain't huge. can't imagine browsing on any touchscreen smaller than the N97. maybe you'd get used to it? but not me.

LOL!! hey, i like s60 and i've learned to live with the quirks of s60v5, but there is actually MUCH wisdom in your post.
everyone is bringing bigger and badder guns to the what promises to be a last-man-standing shootout. Nokia is bringing a slightly sharper, though smaller, knife.
ill put my money on the n97 just because its alittle more mature. for the people that bought the n97 in the first days u guys had many bugs to deal with. same with the mini. what ever happen to n96 its like the fall of the king.
