this seems like such an elementary question, so sorry if it's been answered elsewhere before.. i've tried the function ("v600 voice tag" and "v600 AND voice AND tag"), but it doesn't seem to work because there wasn't a single hit which contained the words "voice" or "tag"
anyway.. i just got my V600 the other day, so thus far no modifications of any kind have been applied.. i got it on Orange here in the UK from onestopphoneshop.com.. s/w version is listed as TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.1DR_A1, Flex SE6403AXXB30F3-1.0.0.2.9.H.0.B.J.1.V.0.0.1.E.AC.H.G.9.3..
the problem is i can't seem to find the Voice Tag function anywhere on the damn phone! i want to test this funky HS810 headset i got free, but i can't record any voice tags to dial out with..
according to orange.co.uk, i go to the Phonebook, find the entry and click View, then Edit, then scroll down to Voice Tag.. however, in the Edit menu i just have:
Name: [name]
No.: [number]
Store To: SIM
Speed No.: 1002 #(S)
......MORE......
i've trawled through all the menus, but can't find any way of accessing this feature! i'm by no means a novice, and can usually figure out any kind of hardware after a few minutes playing.. i'm thinking that for some reason it may have been disabled and may need to start dicking about with seem files et al to get it working, but that's a bit of a pain in the arse cos then i have to wait til i can get a data cable..
Originally posted by MrSlick One 'bug' though: If you have your contacts stored on your phone and SIM, they'll be listed double in your phonebook.
i've just found an even worse one than that..
as i say, all my numbers are stored on SIM.. to test your advice, i went to one of them and changed Store To: from SIM to Phone.. sure enough, the Voice Name option appeared and it allowed me to record a voice tag..
when i came to test this voice tag, however, it didn't work as expected.. when i said the tag, it found the correct entry, but did not dial it.. i wondered why this was, only to find that the entry had reverted to Store To: SIM!
it seems that the voice tag thing will only work if you save the number to the Phone when you originally input it to the Phone Book! if you already have a contact saved to SIM, simply moving it to the Phone will not allow you full Voice Tag functionality
is there any way i can delete voice tags already saved? i've now got to go through the arduous task of deleting all my phone book entries and re-entering them, this time saving them to Phone.. however, it won't let me use any existing Voice Tags (for obvious reasons)..
When you say the name, and it selects it, just wait for about 2 seconds and then the phone will dial that number.
If you want to delete a voice tag, go to that contact, Edit it, go to Voice Name, click Delete.
