RIM/Nextel html browser on BB7510!!!!!
Hey all, after talking with hofo user dandamannyc for a little while, we (he) finally came up with an idea that worked to get the native RIM/Nextel html browser working on the bb7510. The file below is a zipped version of the backup file for the service books on a 7520. You need to download this file, and then unzip it, and install it from Desktop Manager as if you were installing from a backup file (use the Backup/Restore feature). As I said, dandamannyc has done this already, and it has worked. If anyone has trouble with the .zip file, let me know and I will find someone to host the file for me so that it works. Happy html browsing on your 7510!!!!

Well, due to some improper research on the part of both dandamannyc and I, this may not work in the end. Technically, if you were to load these service books on your 7510, it could enable the use of the native html browser. If Nextel/RIM has started to roll this service out to 7510 users already, I didn't know about it, and my post could be ignored.

Most people using 7520's should already have access to this browser. This is an attempt to get the browser out to those using 7510's.... At this point, it isn't really confirmed whether or not it will work (I guess Dan is getting an error message when he tries to visit a page on it), but its worth a shot.

Download the attached file, and load it onto your bb--as long as you have software v.4.0.249 you should get the browser working as soon as you load the service books (this has been done by a user on blackberryforums.com already, and it worked for him--http://blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=9299).
sorry if this is a simplistic question but......do i load this service book through the bb desktop mamager or do i ahve to go online on the bb itself and save it?

Save the file on your pc, then open up Desktop Manager, and go into the Backup/Restore section. From there, you can select to "restore" this file to your bb. I suggest you do a backup of your device before trying this, just in case you encounter any problems.
NOL Browser returns (My [new] Internet Browser never left!)
Then I logged into my BWC (Blackberry Web Client) and resent my Service Books
Once I received my Activation Message, I was back to Normal Sending and Receiving Email, and I have Now both the HTML Browser, and NOL Wap Browsers!
Goodbye Reqwireless Webviewer
Hello HTML Based blackberry Internet Browser!
Ps. I also changed some options in the new browser
open browser first, then click scroll>options>Browser Configuration:
Emulation Mode: from Blackberry to Microsoft IE
Checked>Support HTML Tables
Checked>Support Embedded Media (Flash SVG)
Checked>Support Style Sheets
I'm happy now!
Thanks again!

Glad its helped some users, and sorry it hasn't helped any 7510 users yet
It seems that the actual software version does make more of a difference than people thought at first.... Hopefully it will come around to 7510 users soon though, although I am not sure if its Nextel's ploy to get everyone to upgrade to the 7520....
I think Dazedays is using the html browser on his bb 7510. If you are dazedays that is wonderful. I just want to know which service books is currently on your bb. Mebe that should help with the error messages.
