Press menu, then 0, then 48263 then * and it should bring up Opcode window, type 54* into that and press ok button, then outside camera button

once the seem edit is done to your phone (via USB cable), and your Bluetooth dongle and drivers have been successfully installed and configured on your PC...

(sorry, from memory) You can pair the phone and the PC, then use the My Bluetooth Places icon on the PC... You should have in icon for your phone saying something like OBEX File Transfers... when you double click on that, you'll be presented with a Windows Explorer type window where you can use drag/drop.

I don't have an E815 (I still have my V710), so I can't capture Exact screens, but I do it with my iPAQ...

I would say... YES... make sure both the modified DATE and TIME are all the same... Not doing so could possibly mean different versions.

I have the "My Bluetooth Places" icon but when I double click on it nothing happens. I can't get it to open. Any suggestions? I can transfer files fine using BT and MPT but would also like to do it the "alternative" way as well.

Anyone know the transfer rate between the PC and the phone via USB cable? Seems rather slow for USB 1.1

Yes, that too is a good choice of bluetooth dongle.

Both use Widcomm drivers. Both work great. Keep in mind that if you have XP w/SP2, you really should follow the directions to install or you will end up with 2 Bluetooth icons in the system tray... See my pages (link in sig) when there, from the nav links on the left, click on PC Bluetooth.

usbser.sys

USBSER.SYS... all the info that normally helps V710

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. After weeks of searching for the fix I now have full file transfering functions on my V710.

Has anyone tried....

Visiting http://www.bvrp.com/customers/motorola/upgrade/US/

There is a link there that says....
Quote:
> Click here if you use a CDMA phone and experience disconnect errors while transferring files from your phone to PC.

Inside is a utility that apparently un-installs an older driver then installs a new driver. There is no read me, nothing.

After using it... and plugging my V710 back in, windows Add new hardware wizard runs.. I let it Search for driver. It finds Moto USB Modem and proceeds to tell me its Un-signed. As I watched it copy files, I see one of them is USBSERMPT.SYS !!! Hmm...

Ok, so some more checking....

Now it appears the following was unpacked on my system...
USBMOT2000.INF -> Open in Notepad states "DriverVer=7/10/2005, 2.0.0.6MPT" BUT EVEN BETTER SAYS ;7/10/2005 - Switched to use Win2k usbser.sys as "usbsermpt.sys" at the top with the history section!!
USB_CMCS_2000.INF -> apparently the Moto A668 and A732 modem drivers
AND....
usbsermpt.sys -> When viewing properties.. it lists version 5.0.2195.6655, modified date seems to get changed to current date when unpacked/installed... but INTERNAL FILE NAME = USBSER.SYS!!!!

Could this the answer to our disconnection problems??

Time to try it out!! BRB!!

Ok, preliminary testing... I have a 3.37 meg MP3 on the TF card in my V710... I was able to copy it via MPT to my PC SUCCESSFULLY!!!

gonna try some more... In the process of copying a 67Meg .3GP video from the TF card inserted in the phone to the PC using MPT.... Says 45min remaining... so brb...

[EDIT]
Just finished... It worked!!

So, after applying the BVRP driver fix, copying large files from the Phone/TF card to the PC via USB CABLE works!

Now to try going the other way. (from PC to phone...) will try that in a little bit and post later this morning...

Ok, well, some "ok" news and some bad news...

Trying to transfer the 67meg .3GP video back to the phone ran for a while and then I got the "communication broken by phone."

I had to exit MPT and restart it. Next I tried with a 21Meg .EXE file. It ran for a while and received an "unexpected error" followed by "connection reset by phone." I again had to exit and restart MPT.

Now I was able to transfer a 3.37Meg Mp3 without a problem.

Next up... power the phone off/on and try again with the larger files.
