Verizon Releases 4.0.2 Software Enabling EVDO on 7250
This link will let you download the long awaited Handheld software upgrade that will enable the EVDO feature on the 7250. Please be aware that in order for this upgrade to work you must have installed Desktop 4.1 first, you also need to have a Verizon rep activate the broadband access connect on their end before the software can be installed. Once installed you have to dial *22899 to activate the software on your phone.
This is the link: http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry/vzw402
Installation will erase your BBlight, BBweather, Ramble settings, and possibly some other settings from different third party software like desktopmobile. Re setting it was just a matter of simple re entering some setup settings though. The new calculator should be checked out, it will even do metric convertions. Have fun.

Can the new software be loaded over the air? Pocketmac has not integrated an app loader yet. They still contend that they are working on it, but they do not seem to be in too much of a rush.

No it is only a download direct from verizon and it requires the desktop manager it is an intensive long in time application. It first backsup your entire BB then erases it then loads the new app b4 restoring the whole process took almost 30 minutes
^^ You need to do a PRL update to enable this. If you can load the latest EVDO prl, you're almost there.
The VZW wireless website also requires a valid phone number for a VZW wireless client.
Bah. Oh well, this is at least a good sign of things to come. I'll just be patient
Not like I have my BB atm anyways - I had to get it exchanged (this is the third time!) on Friday and they lent me a bloody Moto 120c until a new one comes in. It should have been within 24 hours (I'm assuming next business day?) but I'm still waiting
I upgraded today to the new software with VZW, but I keep getting: "Data connection refused" I followed the advice from the link provided by Mark (very helpful) I did enter "VZW" in the SIP password and it does not stay there after resetting. I also verified the 3 usernames to start with my phone #. Do I need a "EVDO AN Password" too? Any ideas, please.

You need to call Verizon and get the Broadband Access Connect line item added to your account.

I did this the very first night it was available, I did not give them any codes, just asked them to turn the broadband access connect on and that was it. I gave them no codes, that confuses them. I did not have to put any sip passwords or vreified any names. I have had no issues, i do not get the data connection refused error, and I was able to tehter my laptop, though I only did it once to test because i opted for the free EVDO and do not want to pay the extra 15 dollars for tethering.
