Get HoFo WAP 2.0 on your WM5.0 device...

There was a reg hack that was posted that only permitted the WAP 1.0 version of Hofo, and furthermore prevented you from seeing full html on other sites. The proper reg hack I found not knowing anything about mime types, but this has worked for me and also has not altered the way other sites are displayed.

Pull out your favorite reg editor

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Internet Settings

Create a new String Value in the Internet Settings key called Accept Header.

The value is:
application/xhtml+xml, */*

Browse to wap.howardforums.com - Goto My Prefs - Wap Options and select the xhtml-mp from the drop down menu.

Thank you! Great find and thank you for posting it! This also works on Windows Mobile 2003 SE. It does not affect my ability view full HTML on any of the other sites in my favorites list. Thanks again!

JonnoB -- I see that you are using Mozilla as your brower on your 9100. How is that working for you? I tried it a few weeks back (I think beta 9 or something) and it was ridiculously slow.

How did you find this hack anyway? Did you find it somewhere or did you create it yourself?

Mozilla is what is shown when you use the built in WM5 IE browser.

its not working for me, I am using sx66 with wm5.... and i edited as per as your instructions...and did a soft reset...

however, whenever i still goto wap.howardforums.com - i get a full html page and there is no place where i can select "my prefs"

also once i edit to those settings and reboot...

my settings for accept header key changes to: ,text/vnd.wap.wml

Well, it's doubtful that you entered the new value in the right place. Go to this web address: http://webcab.de/cgi-bin/httph.cgi/c?h=all

Read what's at the top of the page after "accept". Does it read exactly what you entered?

It sounds as if you're regedit may not be saving your settings. It isn't necessary to soft reset after the changes are made. You must however restart PIE.

Well, then it seems that the changes made by your regeditor are not sticking. Perhaps it is locked somehow?

You do realize that the key "5.0" exists in the *same* key as your new value, right?
