seems a bit too expensive, they should have the price $100 lower. $399 on a 2 year.

$619 no contract...ouch. They just lost me as a possible upgrade. When I got my Razr for 340 out the door (no contract) that pretty much sealed that for me. I was gonna return both the Razr and my EV-DO laptop card...but right now, for 440 between the two of them...it's still 200 cheaper than the Treo by itself.

Don't forget about the Advanced device discount guys. If you take the unlimited data plan with a plan of $39.99 or higher then you would qualify for $100.00 off instantly. This discount cannot be combined with NEWE2 however.

I think it is reasonable for the 2 Year Contract agreement...at least it is better than the rumored $650 - 750 that I read in some reports...

Maybe I am just looking at it better because I am eligible for the NE2 $100 discount, plus the remaining balance is being picked up by my girlfriend as my Christmas gift!!!

Two questions:

Do we have any indication whether there will be any mail-in or online discounts yet? A $50 or $100 MIR would help this pricing quite a bit.

How long must you committ to keep the data plan for to get the advanced device discount?

I don't know if there will be a MIR as of yet. I believe that you would need to keep the unlimited data plan for a minimum of 3 months to meet the terms of the Advanced Device Discount.

Yeah & if you compare it to the price of the I730 its a bargain.

I know that it does apply right now even for early upgrades, but am not completely sure about full retail. It wouldn't hurt to ask when your at the store. They are taking away the credit with early upgrades in the middle of January so if you plan on doing that then I suggest you hurry.

Interesting that the new picture posted above is a little different than the originals floating around. The color is a bit different and the palm logo is gone from the top of the phone and replaced with the Verizon logo. Wonder which one is accurate...

VZWEmployee can you double check how long you need to keep the unlimited data plan to get the rebate? I don't qualify for any discount, so I'll be buying mine for $619 and I wouldn't mind the additional $100 off, but not if I have to pay 3 months of $45.

I don't have direct access to that info at the moment. I'm still pretty sure its at least 3 months though.

Ok so here is my question. I'm elidgeible for the NE2 and I plan on getting the 700. Now I understand that there is a $100 discount for the advanced phones. I've read that, that would not equate to $200 off of the phone, so is there a way I can make use of the new every two? (Like an E815 with the NE2, and then the 700 when it comes out for the $100 off)

Call me cheap, but I'm just trying to make the most of waiting for my 2yrs to be up. Thanks

Saw that too - must be a typo right? 4.5 hours talk / 6 hours standby doesn't make sense. Must be more like 4.5 hours talk / 60 hours standby (3600 minutes). He must have accidentally omitted the last zero.

What's this advanced device thing? Does that mean as a new customer w/ a two year contract I can get it for $399 with a $39+ voice + unlimited data plan?

Thanks again to VZW Emp for the great info!

I just got off the phone with Customer Care and the lady I spoke with told me that the promotion for $100 expires December 31st. So if this is true January 5th would be too late anyway to qualify for this discount.

Im also a VZW employee (retail sales).

To the question the guy had before you can not use the 100 dollar unlimited data promo on full retail purchases and you also can not combine the ne2 with that promo.

How is that used then? New subscribers only? No love for us early upgraders?

New every two...means $100 off your next phone, when you have been with Verizon for 2-years.

2 years on a plan of $34.99 or higher....

you could take the plan off a week after you buy it and either block national access period (no pix, web and only quick to net access) or go for pay as you go... the discount is taken at the register so it really doesn't matter how long you have it...

280 minutes of usage time is crazy considering i get 60 min with my razr using BT...
