I'm 2 steps away from buying a 8700g... I need you guys to push me forward or ...

have me take a step back.

I know the Pearl is on the horizon and looks nice but I am a fan of the QWERTY layout. Had a 7510 then a 7520 for a handful of years.

Is there anything that I should wait for with a full QWERTY layout? GSM or otherwise? Or should I dish out the $350 on a 8700g?

I say go for it. Why delay the gratification? Lifes too short to wait for the next best thing. Even if you wait something better is always going to be on the horizon.

Have you tried both a QWERTY BB keyboard and a SureType keyboard? Some people end up hating one or the other. Since the software is the same, picking the form factor and keyboard type is the most important factor.

Luck.

I just bought it. Its alot different from the suretype blackberry 7100ish keyboards; but I really like the feel.

Its got a really vibrant screen too, looks way better then my old 7100e.

I say go for it too. If you need a camera, get a camera, and if you need a music player get an iPod. If you need a great smartphone, get a blackberry. I have had Treos and while it is kinda cool to have a camera and MP3 player, after the initial week, I never used them.

Do yourself a favor and learn to use the shortcut keys, they will make your life sooo much easier. The phone is great, I'm getting an 8700 next week, one of the perks of working for T-Mobile

I love my 8700! I used to use a treo 700 on verizon and I was not impressed. I think the 8700 is a pretty slick little device.
