Can't Lower Plan Anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy Verizon has really went in the chitter!!! I am on the 2100 minute plan and no longer use more than 1000 but when i went to change my plan and save some $$ they tell me this!!

"Now when you add a line or change your voice plan, You will need to upgrade to our new Nationwide Plans."

So i look at the plans but as usual it seems they try to confuse you! Right now i am on the 2100 F&F with 3 lines for $119.98 including the 3 lines. Unlimited text on all 3 lines is $15 I went over $5.30 on data by accident getting pics off my phone to the PC for work. Anyways with all taxes and other BS my bill is $160.68

So what plan do i take? Can i get the Nationwide Basic family share plan and add $15 for unlimited text like before or not? Can't find anything on this!

Signed,
Thoroughly confused!!!!!

2100 F&F? F&F is only for Nationwide plans, and it would only ask you to change if you are on America's Choice (no F&F).

Unlimited texting is only possible on the Select plan which is unlimited texting to anybody for all the lines. (There is unlimited IN text which is unlimited to just VZW numbers which is probably what you're talking about)

Since you are grandfathered into an older plan, you cannot change your plan unless you change over to one of the newer plans. It's the way it is with all carriers.

I don't ever recall there being a $15 unlimited text package/feature/plan.

If you really want a plan with completely unlimited messaging you would go for a select plan, and given your minutes requirements it sounds like the 1400 minute family share select plan would be the way to go. It would run you $129.98/month total, plus taxes, so sounds like it would actually cost a bit cheaper than what you a you are paying now, and you'd actually get completely unlimited messaging. Not only that, but with the new Friends & Family, given this plan, you'd actually get to chose 10 phone numbers that anyone on your plan can call or get calls from completely for free.

Not really sure where VZW would be making more money here, considering you'd actually be saving some while actually getting more in return. The only potential downside of having to switch to a NW plan is the data pricing which would be $1.99/MB (still not quite sure how you ended up with data charges on the plan you are on if you aren't on a NW plan). So, if you use data, there might be something there that might run you extra (perhaps getting V CAST VPak for $15/month for lines that need it, or simply going with a connect plan, either of which would cover the data usage).

In this case, it sounds like the customer could potentially actually save some money by switching...so I'm not sure who would be "making money" here really.

You always know public education is poking through when people fail to understand that paying $30+ in texting features is a waste of money when you could just get the select plan.

Say nothing of the fact that employee discounts also come off of the primary line.

People can't do arithmetic. It's a combination of stupidity and the crack addict-like tendency to make everything harder than it is.

That one definitely exists, but in the original post it sounded like the reference to a $15 messaging package was in relation to it being completely unlimited (not just M2M/IN), which is what my original comment was regarding.

well most customers have a tendency to have selective hearing when they go over there minutes or text messages. I get it every day, "i thought i had unlimited text messages". no sir you only have unlimited text messages to another verizon customers. Its the same as the ones that say they only call verizon customers but go over there minutes. Oh, and going to a select plan is going to be 30.00 more then the basic plan.

How are you calculating that? Last time I checked, Select plans were 20.00 more than a Basic plan. What am I missing?

Might be on a family share plan, in which case it would be $30 higher than a similar Basic plan.

If it's a messaging package (as in a feature) then it's per line, if it's part of the plan, like Select, then the cost of the family share plan itself covers that for secondary lines.
