Winamp Mobile / iTunes Mobile (LightPlayer) for Motorola SLVR L7
Hey guys, thats right i found a way to finally get light player working for the motorola L7, infact this should work on most motorola phones with tflash but it has only been tested on the motorola SLVR L7. After finally finding a way to get Light Player to work on SLVR L7, i decided to build a winamp mobile skin for the Lightplayer. The good thing about this is that i built the skin right into the jar, so if you install this you will automatically be using the winamp mobile skin.
To Install:
- first download Winamp Mobile 1.0 (LightPlayer) and Moto MIDlets Manager v0.22
- unzip motomidman, and open MotoMidMan.exe
- unzip Winamp Mobile 1.0.zip into a temp dir (Ex. C:\Temp\)
- plug in your SLVR L7, and you should see bottom left "Connected"
- if motomidman is showing in russian language, click on the 4th tab, and change the top drop down menu to "English"
- after you have connected your phone to motomidman, click on "Phone memory" tab
- click on "Install" -> "JAR File..." and select the unzipped "Winamp Mobile.jar"
- after it has finished installing, Winamp Mobile should be on the list, right click on Winamp Mobile, select "Access" -> "Enable" Note: this gives winamp mobile access to the tflash and internal memory.
- now click on Restart, and you should see Winamp Mobile installed.
Any problems let me know, will be releasing another LightPlayer skin soon, working on a Itunes theme.
Nice one. I still find myself using the moto-os player since it can throw the control icons onto the homescreen for music. Is there a benefit to using a java app to play mp3's?
k guys, people with v635, tell me if this one works on your phone
i didn't edit the 128 resolution pics, so if it might work but might show a different default skin, let me know if it work but doesn't show the winamp skin.
Also this may be in russian language, let me know if it is.
ok try this, using motomidman, install the v635 jar, but dont do the enable security thing and see if atleast you can get the jar opened. I'm thinking it has to do with the language, i can't test this version on mine since i dont have a v635 and i get the same error, but i know this error happened to me when i had a russian version of the lightplayer and it failed on mine too, but the english version worked. i'm gonna check out the code and see where it could fail, mind you i'm not the best with java.. heh..
wait for my next mod, working on the built in motorola digital audio player, changing the whole interface to look like winamp & ipod. This is gonna be a huge release.
mattmanslim, sorry i tried to get it working for the v635, but without a v635 i wont be able to get it working, maybe someone with knowledge of jar's and with a v635 can get it working.
