Question Switching out of winter tires

I've noticed it's been like getting warmer and stuff, so I'm guessing it's almost time to switch off my Michelin X-Ice's. When I had them put on, the mechanic dude at the dealer said my All-Season tires were looking rough and maaaybe had another season left in them.

Right now they're Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus' (P235/55R17-98H). Since I'm specialising with the winter tires, I'm wondering if should specialise with the non-winter tires. I was looking at the Michelin site and was wondering if I should stick with a set of the Energy MXV4 Plus' or get the Pilot Sport A/S' instead?

Would the Pilot Sport A/S' even work on a 2001 Cadillac DTS?

usually people get aset of winter and summer.

just because it lives longer and gives u the benefits of both seasons (like maximum \benefits wiht no downfalls like all-season does in both seasons in terms of performance).

if u DO go that route, then u gota change u tires back and forth earlier than usual to avoid lineups at places that do it for you (unless you do it yourself).

the onyl argument most people have is "atleast all-seasons give me SOME shred of confidence if its snowing etc". and this is true, lol i had my summers on caus ei had no time to change them and it was snowing, lets just say ill MAKE TIME no matter what next time. lol it scared the **** out of me.

but just make sure u swiotch them during the appropriate time
and u should be ok. btw here in canada, most people take them off at the end of this month cause theres still usually SOME ssnow (or a good chance)

Since you already have a set of winter tires, I suggest a set of dedicated summer tires.

I find it really funny how ppl always say the difference between winter/all seasons is amazing, yet still use all seasons for the summer. Wouldn't it work the same way for the summer?

Swapping tires isn't really a problem. I just do it at home.

The only trade off I could possibly see is that you are still running on your summer tires and a freak snow storm occurs in late september or early october, then you would have to watch out.

And in general, all season tires last longer than summer tires. It's a performance vs thread life trade off. But as always, you would have to compare two specific sets of tires.

i'd say go all out summer
all season = no season
summer and winter is the best way to go.
the problem is not so much having a set of each but more often than not, it's the rims, it can be a hassle to swap them and in most cases storage is a problem for people, i keep like 5 set of rims and storage isn't a problem for me so i go summer and winter but depends on whether or not u have storage, that's the only argument i see for having only one set of all seasons
