Mod Edit: [I]Link changed to WebJal 5. Both JAVA application loaders work with the following method... WebJal 5 does not support loading Start-ups and animations to the newer phones...

Webjal always could load network aware java apps onto the phone. From a developers standpoint, that was the whole point of webjal. JalLite (or whatevertheheck it is called, havent used it in a while) allows you to onloy load local apps.
Go fig.

Independent J2ME developers like these >> http://207.210.82.131/showthread.php?t=891847may have successfully argued that the previous practices restricted their market and violated free trade. I have even seen some link to illegally hacked versions of WebJal in order to provide their services to Nextel owners.
They can't do anything about Nextel's web browser restrictions but Moto may have felt that if the couldn't beat them they might as well join them
With WebJal 4 you no longer have to redirect to a different server. Using this method you are connecting as the software was designed, through Moto's server.
Regard! Moto could still change this at any time. However, since the file is available from the public domain and it appears unmodified with no included distribution restrictions I got to say

... Great contribution. I am going to sticky this sucker!
For those that dont have a Dev login, if you use Vinnycuz patch I just wanted to add that it still works with this version. You cant leave the login box blank anymore though, just enter anything for a name and click OK.
