Score a $20 Discount off your AT&T Prepaid Unlimited Plan

Even considering the lack of VoLTE and AT&T prepaid's lack luster OLAM portal, that $45 price point is very attractive!

Anyone used the cheaper "potentially always throttled" plan? If so how was it? Seriously considering this route.

This should be the same as the Cricket unlimited extra plan which is always deprioritized and lots of people have had good luck with that. There’s a thread over in the cricket forum for it.

I wonder if you can still get the multi-line discount on top of it. Also too bad the $65 unlimited doesn’t come with hotspot.

Is the lack of extra security on the at&t prepaid website as troublesome as it seems? Only needing your phone number and a 4 digit pin to log in seems a little easy to hack. Is there some sort of fail safe if the wrong pin is attempted more than XX times?

If you open a new prepaid line of service on let's say the $85 plan, and you get the $20 discount, are you essentially grandfathered into a $65/mo plan (HD streaming, hotspot etc) for life??

Oh, so it's a $10 extra monthly discount for the $65 and $85 plans if you get a new line and enroll in autopay.

According to the website, you get the $20 discount as long as you stay on the plan. If you change plans the discount goes back to $10. I'm sure the legal-speak in the fine print says they can change anything at any time, but at&t generally is decent about letting people stay on expired plans.

Does anyone with an existing account know if the discount is good or tried switching to the $65 or $85 plans? I'm curious because in the OLAM, unlike the other plans where it says ($xx with AutoPay), those plans say (Save with AutoPay) and the "Save" is in a different font - which looks like a rush web page edit. Even if you proceed to the Change Plan page, it doesn't show the AutoPay price for an existing account.

I wonder if you port from Cricket and get the discount?

I have no direct experience but from what i have read, if you want to port from Cricket you would need to go to an at&t store to accomplish that, but it can be done. There are a couple of threads about it on here.

The issue is about the discount, generally one doesn't get port-in/new line discounts when moving lines from one subsidiary to another, e.g. you don't get Cricket new line discounts if you port an AT&T line of service.

That said, if you go to https://www.att.com/prepaid/autopay-discount.html the T&C don't t mention any such limitations on Cricket/AT&T port-ins, just starting a new line of service. One other tidbit - there is a $30 discount on the LG Phoenix 4 that brings it down to $39.99 when you go to that page.

And, according to a chat I just had on the AT&T Prepaid website, it applies to all lines on a multi-line plan, so it should be $45/$80/$115/$140/$165 for 1-5 line plans.

I was considering a jump to Cricket for my 5-line family plan, but discovered today Cricket doesn't do conditional call forwarding. If AT&T Prepaid does, this might be the way to go. (I'm really loathe to jump off my grandfathered 5 lines unlimited everything for $120 T-Mo plan, though, but it doesn't have Canada/Mexico coverage, whereas this AT&T plan does...)

1) Disable autopay.
2) Switch to $65/$85 plan.
3) Enable autopay.
4) Enjoy the saving.

Yes. I just ported in a line from Cricket and got the discount. I like going to the store since they always give me free SIM and faster service. Phone service rep is sketchy to my experience.

That is a big advantage of at&t prepaid vs MVNO's (and pseudo MVNO's like Cricket) is that you have access to AT&T stores.

Thanks for the multiple heads up on existing plans. Now's the hard part, figuring out if I really want to do this.

I am on the Cricket unlimited plan with the 3mb bandwidth cap. I got in on a special with the 10.00 discount for a year and auto pay it is 40 a month. The AT&T plan is 45 plus taxes which should make it between 48 and 49 in NC. I believe I am going to switch. I need to wait until the end of Nov as I am only about 5 days into this pay period.

Use callingmart.com and avoid taxes and get at least 5% discount.

Looks like CallingMart has officially curtailed their discounts, there is only a 1% discount on the $45 refill - though at least there shouldn't be any taxes. Might not be a bad idea to pick up one of those Wal-Mart PINs.
