• Thread of The Week, Round 2

We're trying something new on the forums, a way to recognize members for promoting valuable discussion here. We're calling it The Thread of The Week. Whomever posts a thread with the most replies gets a free Gold Membership for one month.

Here's how we figure it out... Every weekday I post a Morning Briefing, including the most popular forum threads—that is, the posts with the most replies—for the previous 24 hour period. For reference, here are the Briefings for the past seven days:

Your Morning Briefing for Monday, November 11th
Your Morning Briefing for Tuesday, November 12th
Your Morning Briefing for Wednesday, November 13th
Your Morning Briefing for Thursday, November 14th
Your Morning Briefing for Friday, November 15th

Note that the Monday Briefing includes forum posts from the prior Saturday and Sunday, so anything posted on a weekend is also included.

In each Briefing, forum posts are ranked by the number of replies (from highest to lowest). That's subject to change, of course, so I did a quick recount of replies for all forum posts in the Briefings above. With 53 replies as of this writing, the most popular thread from last week is:

BYOP Galaxy S5 shows up as not compatible

Congrats to @ttfitz for starting our second thread of the week!

Howard and I are hoping that this little enticement will further encourage the sharing of news, tips and other useful information on these forums. What do you think of the idea? Please share your feedback, questions and/or concerns below.

Also, the winner's user flair currently reads "thread of the day" instead of "thread of the week". We're working on that!

Andrew Currie has been blogging about mobile phones since 2001, smartphones (depending on how you define them) since 2002 and smartwatches since 2014.

I doubt they had to. It sounds more like they just started enforcing the terms as they were originally written. According to some of the posts, they were allowing people to make manual payments by...

I should have followed up on this sooner, but here we are two years later and time does fly by. I did change my GV number, and none of the shadow numbers changed. I was very surprised by this.

I'm rather new to smart phones. I have a new unlocked E6 I bought from Motorola. It uses Ting.
