Page Plus uses Verizon's network, Boost CDMA uses Sprint's.
Page Plus is $39.95 + tax = 43.25, Boost CDMA is $50 + Tax + Fee = $60/61.
Page Plus can activate most any Verizon handset, Boost CDMA can only activate Boost CDMA's original 3 (c290, w385, KRZR), and then you MIGHT be able to switch to a Sprint handset. But you might not.
Looks like out of the gate, Page Plus wins.
I would say overall Page Plus but in web, Boost cdma beats Page Plus.
The Sprint Phone advantage is less then the Verizon/Alltel/Straight Talk/Ampd phone advantage. Plus you can use Sprint/Metro/Cricket with flashing. Plus, two of Sprint's biggest guns, Palm Pre and Instinct cannot be used on Boost cdma. They have already been used on PPC.
With BMCDMA you have Bmcdma and Sprint (which is hit or miss). But if you DO get a Sprint handset on there, for mobile web, Bmcdma hands down.
20 megs vs unlimited. No contest in that niche.
But overall, PPC takes it with network, more phone choice, less hassles getting other non carrier phones on the network.
There are reasons Sprint is losing 1/4 of a million customers each quarter.
Poor CS and coverage among them.
Our 1st cell phone many years ago was Sprint. It was a nightmare of dropped calls and lack of coverage. I realize coverage has improved since those days but the bad taste Sprint left in my mouth remains.
Perhaps I'm immature or vindictive of both but I will never be involved with anything or anyone associated with Sprint again.
BTW I love Page Plus
PagePlus has no tax and is available at a discount which brings the price down to $37-$38. Boost CDMA has tax but its no where near $10 or $11 a month as has been stated. I pay $51.70 a month including tax. Since its not available here I gave a Las Vegas address and have a Nevada number although a user said we can port in a local number just keeping the address.
If you live in a good area for Sprint native coverage Boost CDMA wins hands down due to the fact that there is 3G data included with the proviso that you don't abuse it whereas PP has a 20mb limit, huge difference there. You can put almost any Sprint phone on this plan after starting with one of the original 3 phones. The 290 is available on Ebay and several refurb places for short money to get started.
If you live in an area where Sprint native coverage stinks then PagePlus is the best deal in town with the single exception of those that send and receive lots of picture messages as they charge 10 cents (plus data usage) per mms versus free (plus data usage) for StraightTalk although both use data so if you run past the StraightTalk 30mb using mms you won't be able to send anymore pics that month. There is about a $10 difference between the PagePlus and StraightTalk pricing since StraightTalk has a couple of bucks for tax so about 100 mms a month is a break even.
as several people have already stated, review the sprint and verizon coverage for your area.
in middle tennessee, the entire state of tennessee for that matter, there is no comparison -
verizon has far superior coverage/network
i do not like dropped calls or areas with no coverage, so for me there was no debate.
LOL. Where do you get this + Fee? Boost CDMA wins hands down because they offer so much more than PP including free picture mail.Quote:

I have never went over on data, using the motorola Q with opera mini. Third of all they use verizons network which 1000 times better then sprints network, so hands down PagePlus blows Boost CDMA away.Quote:

If you want to do things such as stream video or run a map program quite a bit or tether 20mb isn't going to get you too far.
As far as Verizon's network being 1,000 times better than Sprint I hardly think that is true. The difference in coverage is the big factor so again where the coverage is good in metro areas and such Boost CDMA is a much better deal.

also, if one googles, one can find a discount code and go to callingmart and get around 6 percent off of the refill card
(some people are using bing/bong rebates to get even greater discounts off page plus refill cards at ebay)
with regards to network - i am not a verizon homer, i have previously been with tmobile, verizon, and cricket - verizon has a far superior nation-wide network than sprint -
as i stated before, one should compare local coverage areas to see which is best
If you go into a wireless store to buy your refill cards for Page Plus, you will indeed pay sales tax.
If you go into a wireless store to pay your Boost cdma bill, you will indeed pay a $3 to $5 "convenience fee".
As far as the tax not being $11, that is correct, it is usually between 6 and 7 dollars.
When a Boost cdma customer walks into my store, and their bill is $56.61, I have no option but to post $57, plus the $4 fee, thus the customer pays $61.
Now if you are "crafty", and want to take the time to do it, you can "circumvent" the system and get a Boost number in a state that has lower telcom taxes...
Hawk--who told you it was free pics for PP? Read the website. How would anyone even know if they haven't even been through a billing cycle yet? I emailed PP and asked them if Pictures were included and they referred me to their pricing on the website. If it is free the website is wrong or its one of those unadvertised temporary beni's.
I have been on PP since the 14th and I have an acct online that shows my call log ... I have not been charged for pictures or ringtones ... my balance has been the same since the 14th. I asked PP CS about it today and was told there is no charge until the 20mbs are gone.
Boost CDMA vs. Page Plus for data? How 'bout neither.Quote:

You can still find people selling their SERO plans (transfer of liability). And if you find one out of contract, you don't even have to worry about that.
Sprint (unlike Boost CDMA) roams on Verizon so you get the best of both worlds, especially if you live in the swiss cheese exurbs. Only downside is you can't put an Instinct or Palm Pre on it.
My 10c
Bumping this dead horse. Has anyone had any luck flashing a Sprint phone that got flashed to Page Plus, back over to boost mobile? I've searched for hours and figured I'd drop this question in here.
