I doubt that is Sprint's plan given that they don't seem to make a concerted effort at making sure the devices they sell include LTE B13.

Also, I doubt if Verizon will really drop CDMA in 2018....

T-Mobile essentially has no choice but to use VoLTE since on their low band (B12) they only transmit LTE.

Sprint on the other hand has 1xAdv running on 800Mhz for Voice.

T-Mobile has only recently started deploying band 12 around Orlando so give it some time. Eventually you should see better reception in previously problematic reception areas with devices without...

Ummm... that would mean no iPhones except for 6S. Yeah, that's not gonna happen.

Also, remember that T-Mobile only has enough B12 licenses to cover about half the US population so there are plenty...

Actually SMR 1x is rather well deployed at this point outside of IBEZ areas, but they are still quite a bit behind on 800 LTE (band 26) deployment, and don't even ask where they are with VoLTE...

Possibly not for a while if ever as T-Mobile does not own the band 12/700A license for SW FL (Sarasota-Ft. Myers-Naples). In Florida they own 700A licenses for Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Palm Beach,...

Probably not anytime soon (if ever) since the Jacksonville license is owned by Continuum, one of the spectrum speculators. They probably want too much for it. T-Mobile has said they will not...

There is an active license lease from Cricket to AT&T on the FCC's books for the Chicago A license. Of course though, they can't do anything with it anyway because of the TV station.

Well, not quite eternity maybe. The 35% geographic buildout requirement on these licenses is the end of next year. If the squatters don't unload these licenses with sufficient time for some provider...

Sorry, no band 12 is deployed in Hampton Roads. That spectrum's license was originally owned by Cox who, after they decided they weren't going to build their own wireless network, sold it off to a...

    Here is a possible scenario:

Say you are an AT&T customer and you are up for an upgrade and you buy phone X and renew your contract for 24 months. Now say you are a year into that 24-mo contract...

Correct, and if you order the officially SIM-free iPhone 6/6+ from Apple in the U.S. they basically just ship you an unlocked Sprint variant to be used on any carrier.

    This does beg the question...

In some areas, due to historical reasons and/or ineptitude by the FCC, AT&T is not one of the A/B cellular providers. In those areas, the only low band spectrum AT&T owns is in the 700Mhz band. In...

Yes, the SIMs are different. The "4G" data-only plan SIM is a T-Mobile SIM. The voice and data plan SIM is an AT&T SIM.
