Interesting, my Motorola STAR-Tac called it as-AMPS, but my Nokia phones called it TDMA. I see what you are saying is technically correct, but I feel like there was some sort of branding / service...

Umm, they pushed it from 2019 to 2020. Of course now that the time is up they’re waffling again with this “it’s not a hard date” nonsense but if it breaks we won’t fix it.
