I tried setting up my email into the phone, and it's asking for a pin # and there's a default pin in the phone. Once I filled out my email addtress and password, it said activation failed. A service connection is unavailable. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Is it the Pin # that's wrong?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
You need BB connect to have access to BIS. The 12 MB won't work. And BB connect is discontinued so...

I am on CITY Fido with the 18.00 value pack which includes 12 megs of Data,

    My questions:

    1) Is 12 megs of data enough for just emailing and pin to pin messaging?
    2) Is the 12 megs of data included in my 18.00 value pack good for BB on Fido?
    3) Will pin to pin messaging work on Fido?

I hear so many different statements that I am so lost and confused.

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Recent issue with BIS

I purchased a BB Pearl last fall, added the $40 BB connect plan and it activated easily and I had no issues using email, pin messaging or the browser.

Last friday, my browser stopped working. When I try to access any page it loads the BB screen, and after 20 seconds of 'requesting...' it gives me the error message that "A problem occurred while trying to render the page." Any ideas on what's wrong?

can't get gmail, google maps, etc to work on my 8310

I recently switched my data plan from $100 BB Connect to the $30/6gig iPhone plan, as I purchased an iPhone. However, it seems as though there may be a delay in shipping the iPhone and I need data on my Blackberry Curve in the meantime.

I changed APN settings to internet.fido.ca; however, the only app that works is Opera Mini. I cant seem to get Gmail app, Google Maps, MSN Messenger, etc to work; I originally installed these apps OTA while on BB connect plan. Could it be that I need new service books? Aside from entering in the APN settings, is there anything else I need to do?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Fido no longer offers BB connect so as soon as you moved to the 30GB iphone plan they removed the BB.

How do I get the PIN to work? I have the TCP settings as internet.fido.ca, user= fido and pass= fido.

When I try to set up a friend it just keeps saying 'pending' but never actually goes through.

Whats up with it or how do I get it work?

I do have his PIN set up under his contact. Do I need a Blackberry connect plan for get the PIN to PIN working? I wont use it for email....

    Thx

Again, sorry to dig up an old thread.

Now that BB Connect isn't available, does this mean that BB's are pretty much useless on Fido, at least for BB features? I know that BB Messenger won't work, but what about (not necessarily PUSH) email, and web browsing? Would those still work with a regular data plan?

As far as I know, the only thing you won't get with your BB will be push email.
