    Talking IT'S HERE!! THREADED SMS & Scheduled SMS APP - SMSCHAT BY SYMBIAN WAVE!!!

    Ok maybe not that exciting to some folks but definitely exciting to me! This program has TONS of potential. It works pretty good. Still testing at the moment. This app looks very similar to what we've seen so far from the iphone. But for all those that wanted scheduled sms, it's built in natively to the app. I was using ThreadSMS by EHandySoft..but haven't heard anything recently from the developer. Seems like this new app may be a little prettier looking and better functioning. I think the navigation gets some getting used to. Wondering how well they are going to take feature suggestions. There is more info and discussion at the following links

    If any of u wanna post some in use screenshots. Feel free to do so..I may take some later..but for now hopefully the below links/images work.

    Features

    * Simple and fun-to-use chat-style user interface
    * 5 built-in skins (themes) for the chat
    * Simultaneous view of incoming and outgoing messages
    * View delivery status
    * Organise the dozens of SMS you get
    * Delete messages directly from the program
    * Emoticons support
    * Delayed SMS sending (SMS scheduler)
    * Convenient message editor
    * Templates support
    * Auto encoding support
    * And many more!

    "SMS Chat is a fully featured SMS application. It works with standard SMS folders, as well as Contacts database."

    P.S. I do not work for them, nor am I trying to promote the product. I just know tons of people including myself love the Chat Style Messaging from Palm. I think that should be standard nowadays. Considering a LOT of us sms religiously.

    Lemme know what u guys think!
    What phone shall I get next???

    So I'm guessing this is for 3rd edition symbian devices only huh? Like this wouldn't work on my old 6681 would it?

    does it completely replace thebuilt-in messaging app? I.e. when you get a new message, do you have to open the app to get to it or can you just use the default notification to take you into the app?

    You have to open the app unfortunately .. I dont know if these companies thinks the program conflicts with the Palm Messaging app in an illegal way or something but I'd like to see this or ThreadSMS replace the nokia built in client. Both programs are good. feature wise SMSCHAT seems better..but in terms of speed...I think ThreadSMS might win in that department. Has anyone else tried both apps extensively?

    Yes I ran into that issue actually. I signed them myself. Although I thought it was rather stupid considering I paid for the app. Shouldn't have to resort to that.

    http://my-symbian.com/s60v3/faq/show...dAuto=14&faq=1 speaks about the issue but doesnt really help much. It's up to the supplier now.

    I had to sign the app AND the paid for license. Gonna email them tomorrow. I also emailed the ThreadSMS developer to see if there are any updates to his program as well.

    Same here. It doesn't look as clean as the other threaded app we've seen.

    Here's another app I'm testing out that works pretty darn awesome. It's part of TalkinSilent application, but it's called TextChat. Except that it wasn't reallly intended primarily for text chatting. There's a review here: A Little Closer To Threaded SMS

    I've posted some personal screenshots below. You can also note that this program has an awesome feel to it. It's how these other threaded sms should be. IE: Leaving an active blinking cursor ready to type upon the next message rather than requiring the user to click a soft key that says "new sms". Has a solid contact lookup. You can only thread one person at a time though. There is no history either. But when you get a text with an open thread it automatically brings itself to the front. Which can be good and bad in both ways. Also if you have threaded with someone it will ask you if you wanna start a text chat. SUPER COOL. Check the shots below..try it out. Pretty soon we need to create a BATTLE OF THE THREADED SMS APPS FOR SERIES 60 V3 thread. lol. We are close to a good sms threader! SOO sooo close. Everyone test this one out and lemme know what u think. Enjoy the screenshots.

    Asking if you want to thread upon new sms:

    Nice phone number entry or contact lookup:

    Auto-completion of last used words/sentences/phrases:

    In action..although I'm texting myself:

    Also note.. I believe you can use the Textchat feature as a completely separate app. . Hmm..interesting choices.

    Did you have any issues installing the SymbianWave app on your E61i? RIP and I have failed on ours.

    I had the TalkinSilent app on my N95 earlier. Unfortunately, there arent any plans to open it to purchase, they want to go straight through the carriers for some odd reason.

    Yes I ran into issues. The same error that I posted in a link above. Best thing is to contact the developer.

    And I guess that other app that I posted screenshots of won't really get far. (TalkNSilent or whatever its called). Probably up to ThreadSMS and SMSCHAT to come with some user suggested feature updates.

    On the topic of contacting the developer. Developer just emailed me:

    "we send you an updated license file for SmsChat, please try it.
    Hope this will fix your problems.

    "

    So I'm assuming they are gonna update all the links on Handago and their site as well.
