    New Prepaid Plans

I had to call prepaid CS lastnight and on the hold message, ti said something about new power plans for prepaid, with no $1 charge and rates as low as .2 a min. Anyone know anything about it, I did not see it on VZW website.

It is 3 dollars on the day you call. If you call a lot it is 90 or more a month. If you text a lot it is a good deal because it does not trig the 3 dollars charge. Hope this is a option only not to replace the current deal.

When you go to www.verizonwireless.com, click on plans. Then click on prepay plans. Then click on shop inpulse. Click on activate now. Enter your zipcode or city and state then click submit. There are 3 new plans. .99 cents will get you unlimited in calling .10 for nights and all other calls. .10 text messages. The next plan is 1.99 for unlimited in and night calls. .05 for other calls and text messages. The last plan is 2.99 for unlimited in and night calls. .02 for other calls and text messages. These charges are only on days you make voice calls. This is soooo much better than the previous plan which is .99 every day whether or not you use the phone. There is no other information available on the website. I told 4 people about it and they signed up. The plan that you have shows up in the My account on your phone only. Not on the website. From my understanding you can switch between plans but this is something I do not know from personal experience.

    Nice, nice, very nice!

I said several months ago: any company ignores prepaid market will be proven to be stupid. VZ finally realizes it. In the last 3 months, prepaid market has increased 40%. No wonder TMO2GO phones were all sold out in stores while Inpulse and other phones were still everywhere.

Now the only thing missing is: $15 refill for 2 or 3 months. That'll be perfect!

And the question is: will we current customers be automatically transfered to the new "Core" plan, i.e., no 99 cent charge?

Did I just lose after 9pm free calls?
If that's the case, when my minutes run out I'm done.

Note that "view details of original Inpulse plan" link. After I clicked this link, the new plans disappeared and the old plan came out. My understanding is: the original plan is still available (at least for now) and will be grandfathered.

Yup. You only get the new plans if you want them.
i looked back and saw i only used my phone like 15 days in a month for calls. That makes power rule for me since i send/receive like 1000 txts a month. Now if only pix messages were cheaper...

Chrifive, my thinking is upgrade to the inpulse plus plan. 1.99 a day only on days you use it and take advantage of the .05 a text. There is only a charge if you use voice. Not with only texting and other services. That is from my understanding. If you don't need night calling, the other option of .99 a day is good. It would save you money by only deducting when needed. I like the idea of the 2.99 plan. I text plenty and the .02 a text is a money saver. I rarely talk.

So they won't charge you the fee, if you don't talk?

It all comes down to how many days a month you actually make phone calls. For me changing from the power to the plus would cost me an extra $15/month. My TXTs would be an extra $30 while id only save $15 on the access fee.
i was spending like $150 a month before, now i'll be spending like $70-80 or so. Cutting my bill in half!
