Question Has anyone tried setting up bellnet.ca POP e-mail on their Windows Mobile device?

I'm trying to access my work e-mail, which uses Bell's bellnet.ca mail servers.

Specifically, my (desktop) mail client is set to connect to pop51.bellnet.ca and smtp10.bellnet.ca to check the mail, but it just won't connect. I keep coming back to the username/password entry window, despite the fact that I know I've input these items correctly.

    Any ideas?

So you are a customer of Bell Nexxia and not Bell Sympatico, correct?

I believe so, although I'm not sure if that's been restructured. At any rate, the office uses Business Internet High Speed (BIHS) from Bell.

I'm pretty certain it doesn't go through the Sympatico servers normally.

First question: are you able to go on the web with your phone ? The user/password error might be related to the internet connection itself, not your email account.

Sorry, I should have pointed that out. I have no problem connecting to the Internet and downloading POP or IMAP mail from any other accounts.

For the sake of completeness, this is for use on an HTC Touch (as stated in my profile) and I've only had the silly little thing for two days now.

    Thanks

Sympatico use Hotmail server now ...

Bellnet.ca is not on Hotmail server !
You have this account when you subcribe to an internet business account

i had a motorola Q that i used mini-outlook to get my mail... it did really work.

i had to change the outgoing server port numbers to 1025 (or something), in order to get it to 'see' the mail server.

oh, did you set up the ssl box in the settings?

I have recently acquired a Treo 700wx and am having the same problem accessing the bellnet.ca mail server to pull my email. I am confident that I am configuring things correctly but my fear is that the incoming mail server is not accepting access from wireless users. Do any of the Bell people on line have any guidance for us.
