My history is in my Signature. I have had my number on what has become the new AT&T, most directly really. The company I was with at the start did all the buying, so technically with the same company since around 1995. The history in my Signature starts in 1999 when my dad gave me his phone and number (then the Nokia 5160.) Prior to that he had a MicroTAC and another larger phone that resembled a military phone. Lol. I was too young to remember exactly what it was. He switched to AT&T Wireless, which Ironically became part of his former wireless company.

I didn't put years in my graphic, but I basically have got a new phone every year or so. This last year I added a second line, which has the Shine on it. On top of that, my brother and parents have all had phones since around 2000. So I have a nice box of old phones. All of us have always been on GSM carriers, as a matter of fact, my mom and brother were and still are on the same plan following the march to AT&T. My dad was the only one that broke off and then came back. I can safely say, not a single person in my family has ever owned a CDMA phone (Yeah, I know 3G is W-CDMA, you know what I mean.)

Now that I am in college, I have to make the decision on where to take my two lines. Although, I will stick with my mothers family plan as long as possible. ;-) I hate to break off 15 years with the same company, but things aren't looking too bright right now...

    Wow, where to begin?

I started back in 1996 in college, with Bell Atlantic Mobile:

    - Ericsson AF738
    - Some Nokia Analog Model

I also travelled a lot, and so I was with GTE Wireless at the same time (this was before national carriers)

    - Motorola DPC 550 "MicroTAC" (Hah! Love that name.)
    - Motorola DPC 650 "MicroTAC Elite"

Around 1998, Sprint came along and I jumped on that:

    - Qualcomm QCP-2700
    - Qualcomm QCP-2760
    - Sprint Touchpoint 120 (manufactured by Denso)
    - Nokia 6185
    - Sprint Touchpoint 2200 (manufactured by Denso)
    - Motorola StarTAC
    - Motorola TimePort 8767
    - Sanyo SCP-4000
    - Kyocera 6035

I was also briefly on Nextel around 99-2000, but didn't cancel Sprint:

    - Motorola i1000
    - Motorola i90c

Back full time on Sprint, around 2000-2001:
    - Sanyo SCP-4700
    - Sanyo SCP-5150
    - Sanyo SCP-6200
    - Treo 300
    - Sanyo SCP-4900
    - Sanyo SCP-5300
    - Sanyo SCP-8100
    - SonyEricsson T608
    - Treo 650
    - Treo 700p

    In 2005, defected for Verizon:
    - Motorola RAZR
    - Blackberry 7250
    - Blackberry 7130e

Back again to Sprint in 2006 because I was a glutton for punishment:
    - Samsung A900
    - Blackberry 8703e

    In 2007, then Cingular/AT&T:

    - Motorola RAZR
    - Treo 750
    - Samsung BlackJack
    - iPhone 1st Gen
    - SierraWireless 875U
    - AT&T Mercury Card
    - iPhone 3G

The last two are my current devices.

I'm sure I've missed a few models along the way.

Through it all, I've had the same cell phone number for about 11 years now.

Left: iPhone 6+ on T-Mobile. Right: Comcast home internet connection.

In January or February, I'll get a new phone, but I haven't decided if I want the Motorola RAZR2 (V9m) or Motorola ROKR (Z6m) or Motorola Q. Or maybe something that we haven't launched yet. There are a couple upcoming that could be interesting. This is all with uscc. I know, only one carrier for 5 years? Weird, huh?
Since someone else brought this back to life...lol

    Feb 2008 - LG UX260
    Feb 2009 - HTC 6800
    Next...Touch Pro

Well, since this is my first post, it might as well be here.

Purchased my first phone in late 1995 at a CellularOne kiosk at Shoppingtown Mall in DeWitt, New York. It was a Nokia 100.

After that, moved to a Motorola MicroTac Alpha, which I wound up giving to my wife when I got a Nokia 232.

Switched "sides" to Frontier in late '90s for reasons which escape me now, then back to CellularOne when Frontier dropped seven calls in a row. (I had a car accident in Syracuse - not exactly in the middle of the woods here - and wound up walking to the nearest pay phone with a pocket full of quarters.)

After that, a couple of StarTacs with CellularOne (which changed its name to Cingular around this time).

In 2002, I found a MicroTac Elite on eBay for fifteen bucks. It even included the tutorial VHS tape. I had always wanted one, but could never afford it. It broke my heart to have to give this one up when Cingular went digital the following year. (They said I could still use it, but good luck making calls with it within a year or so... This one still sits in the closet. For some reason, I cannot get myself to get rid of it.)

Lost my job in 2003, so no phones for a while. My mother bought me a TracFone for my birthday two years later. Started with a V60i, then a V176, and then a W370.

Favorite phone of all time? The Elite, hands down.
