Weird since gmail push works amazing.

    EXACTLY! PUSH email is not fully "push" like Blackberry. This I know because if no new emails in 30min then the connection is "paused" for lack of better word. So its not your fault nor your settings.

    Count on this being major change next quarter or thereafter when Microsoft releases "System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008" ... pure competition for RIM BES (which I still think will be far better).

    Oddities for the w890i.

    played with two different w890i's one i now own on virgin uk and the other a demo phone on 3uk, its like two totally different phones, the 3 one seems slower than my one, the camera settings seem different on the 3 one and the whole feel of the menus seems totally different....wonder what the other carriers versions are like, orange, vodafone, o2, t-mobile.....

    has anyone found any advantages to using the built in google maps versus installing the java app? the java app uses the entire screen, whereas the built in one leaves a row at the top and bottom for icons and soft key descriptions. i feel like i prefer the java app, as it uses more of the screen.... anyone else?

    Ok...so maybe I should read the instructions, but it's so much easier to just ask you guys...I just got my w890i (love it so far)...but when, when taking a picture, I try to zoom and it says that it cannot zoom in picture mode. Huh?

    This is a really nice phone, i think that people who wants a comfortable phone have to choose this one, its a really small phone you can take it everywhere cause it fits in every pocket.Its a very dinamic and beautiful phone,it has a lot of memory space. Its sounds really good and it has bluetooth so you can exchange music,games and programs.

    Does anyone know how to setup an internet account for this handset? It came in the mail today and I have no idea how to use my AT&T mobile internet settings on here.

    Any input would greatly help, THANKS !

    Hello everybody,

    The difference which gives W890 edge over W880 are:

    Memory

    W880= 16 MB internal memory (1GB card)
    W890= Up to 32 MB shared memory (2GB card)

    Connectivity

    W880= No EDGE
    W890= Class 10, 236.8 kbps

    Camera
    W880= 2 MP, 1600x1200 pixels
    W890= 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels

    Excellent value for money!

    Thank you

    The newest member of the Sony family of mobile phones is an enhancement of its predecessor, the Sony Ericsson W880i. Both phones have excellent music capabilities, the real purpose of the "W" series. In both models the emphasis is on the phone's ability to produce excellent musical entertainment instead of being a camera phone. This is apparent in the fact that the camera on both phones lacks both auto focus and flash.The newest member of the Sony family of mobile phones is an enhancement of its predecessor, the Sony Ericsson W880i. is this quadband with 850mhz? If so, has anyone used it on Rogers where 850 is needed, and how was reception? 850 is pretty much the main frequency in my city.

    I'm in canada as well. So there are 2 different models? Is one triband 900mhz, and the other triband 850mhz?
