The Primus rep I spoke to says that none of the phones they sell have a browser and there's no internet access possible. So why do they sell 0.25 and 1.0 MB data packages (using GPRS) at $3 or $7/mo.? What could you do with that GPRS - tether to a PDA or PC?
Sharp PC3k > Palm 1k, Pro, III > HandEra 330 > Compaq Aero 1500 > Palm T1, T3 > Sharp Zaurus > Toshiba e800 > Palm TX > Audiovox XV-6700 > Nokia N82, 5800XM > HTC Magic > Acer Liquid E > iPhone4, Samsung Galaxy Tab
I doubt that tethering would make much sense with such an insanely low bucket (0.25 & 1 MB?!). Perhaps it's made for those of us who have capable phones that need pre-paid data.Originally Posted by midtoad
Heck, a good example would be a holidaymaker who wouldn't be in Canada for long & needs something that works but is cheaper than roaming on their standard device/line. 7$/MB works out to about 0.007$/KB or seven tenths of a penny per kilobyte, which is actually cheaper than most US carrier roaming prices which usually start 0.01$/KB | ~10$/MB.
