Got the letter-Getting kicked soon. Then back to dialup. YUCK!
NB
7-8 Gb/month
Not kicked yet.
ON
30 - 50Gb/month
This should be interesting if there are enough people getting kicked who read HoFo. I'm betting 75% or more will be in the Maritimes. Most of the Maritimers on Telus are likely using Bell towers full time. When Telus first came out here, they had no towers at all and used all Aliant (NBtel, MTT, NewTel, Island Tel) towers with digital only service. IIRC, it was marketed at the time as the only all digital network in Atlantic Canada.
^That's kind of what I'd like to establish. I haven't (yet) heard a report of TELUS booting someone who's in "native" TELUS country.
I'm wondering whether TELUS is booting *everyone*, or just people who are roaming onto Bell/Aliant towers?
If the old data agreements are still in place, who knows how much Bell is charging TELUS for roaming? If it was 1 cent per megabyte, that would be $10 per GB and they'd be breaking even on some and losing money on others.
But if it were 10 cents per MB, then a New Brunswicker who downloaded 5GB would be costing TELUS $500 and paying $75+7.
(EDIT: a good point was made in the next post that TELUS is still selling data at $10/GB. So they must be buying it from Bell/Aliant for less than that!)
OR, maybe, they're booting everyone and have just chosen to start in the Far East. We shall see.
C'mon folks, answer the poll!

Hmmmm,,,interesting that they offered me the 1Gb plan and $10 per Gb after that.
who was the alberta guy that voted in the poll?? ???!?!?!
were you actually cancelled or just "accidently voted that way on the poll"
how much usage???
answers .. i need answers!!!
Receive a letter when i am with bell unlimited plan ...
No receive any letter from telus
I use telus quebec tower
i use 10 - 40 GB per month
It smells like the poll is being corrupted by 'unknown forces'. Four additional votes in quick succession. One vote is supposedly from Nunavut where there is none of the EV-DO Rev. A coverage, only the much slower 1x. Smells funny. I wouldn't trust it.
PS: The Telus coverage map for the Canadain northern Territories is 5.1MB. Which means I have just used up about 3% of my daily allowance downloading that one file (from Telus). This is based on their secret 5GB per month limit, which is only about 165 MB per day. This one 5MB file is about 3% of that daily limit. Idiots. I guess I had better turn off my PC now before I exceed by daily allowance and get kicked-off...
The poll should be reposted and be public
it's just a phone, is it really that big of a deal?
