Samsung Innov8 now available in the UK

The Samsung Innov8 has landed in the UK today. Carphonewarehouse and it's partners appear to be the first shops to get it. It's available free on a £40pm Orange contract with many shops doing a cashback via redemption special offer, making the overall cost £35pm over the life of the 18month contract.

I've been reading about the INNOV8 as well and was wondering since its a symbian based phone, can you use the same sis files from our N series phones to install apps on the INNOV8, such as emtube or whatever have you?

Yes!! But I heard only 3rd Party Apps..

Meaning you can install on the 3rd Party Apps like what you mentioned emtube, Epocware Handy, Lonely Cat Games, etc.

You can't install the apps from Nokia Beta Labs like Nokia Email, Nokia Conversation, Nokia Maps, etc..

The license is only to use Symbian S60 OS and its 3rd Party Apps.

If I was Nokia I will take that as an insult, but then again its not Samsung that's doing this its the retailers to get customers.

yes im with you, although i do like the look of the n96 better as i see them both together more. I just doint like the extra 200.00 the n96 might cost.

FP2 is not hack-proof. I'm not 100% sure if it will allow you to install Nokia apps on a non-Nokia device but it should work.

AllAboutSymbian and Symbian-Freaks BOTH have an article SPECIFICLY aimed at this possible ailment that MUST BE FIXED by Symbian Foundation and FAST if their to continue their worldwide market dominance in the smartphone realm. Write an app once - deliver it - and install it on any compatible (same S60 vers) device you choose!

INNOV8 man that is FAST!

Gotta start saving the pennies, lint, and eye candy change for the next 3mths to get either this or the N85. Upgrading PC comes first now that I have an E71
