Hmmm, I know the Blitz is 1X only. But I know for sure the EnV2 and Alias 2 has at least EVDO Rev. 0. I'm not too familiar with prepaid plans and if the EVDO Rev. 0 is locked down or not but I don't see why they would.

I went to the Verizon store and saw that I could get the QWERTY phones the Blitz, the Samsung Alias ?2, and the LG Env2 all on prepaid but they all had 1x data speeds, which I think is 50-80 kbps. The salesperson could not stream youtube or anything from vuclip.com. What is the minimum data speed you need to stream video and can any of the Verizon prepaid phones do this? Thanks for any help.

The Moto W755 has EVDO Rev. 0, at least, I think.
EVDO is not locked down. The phone needs to be actvated tho to be used.

I tried the LG Env2 in the store and I couldn't get youtube. And the guy on the phone said you can only stream videos with PDAs like the Blackberry but those can't be used on prepaid.

LG enV 2 only has a WAP browser, which doesn't support a lot of things, like YouTube, for example. LG enV 3, on the other hand, has an HTML browser, and at least supports the YouTube mobile site.Originally Posted by cookiecandy

C DM: The only problem is you can't get the LG Env3 on prepaid because it has the application Dashboard. Does Verizon allow tethering with a prepaid phone? Is tethering easy to do?
That's correct, LG enV 3 can't be used on pre-paid mainly because it has an HTML browser and requires being on a Nationwide plan.Originally Posted by cookiecandy
In terms of pre-paid tethering, it seems like http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1368835 might be of some help when it comes to that.
Try looking at the thread titled InPulse Tethering/DUN Question which is two threads below this one. I think you will get your questions answered.Originally Posted by cookiecandy
