Has anyone noticed scratches on the rear camera? The cover is always closed when I am not taking photos, but I have noticeable scratches on the camera glass. It almost looks as if the cover is scratching the glass when I am opening and closing the cover...
yep.. luckily it is beside the lens and not on the lens.
It would have been better if you included which phone you were discussing in the title of the thread but judging by your avy its the N97. Its just the way the mechanism was made. Nothing you can really do about it though.

Boh, chi si capisce é bravo e chi dorme non prende pesci!
PRO = unlim min plan on Rogers mad seeg network
at least on mine, the scratch is just beside the lens opening, does not affect the pictures.
do you guys have the scratch in the middle of the lens?
Mine are pretty much all over...including the lens. Fortunately, I do not notice any differences in the pictures.
shite.. def call nokia..
or could it be that something got stuck in while the lens was open and when you shut it the "particle" damaged the lens?
nokia has a sort of a cushion on the lens cover.
was thinking the same some sort of particle.Originally Posted by kwokwchoy

heheh ... particle![]()
Its a terrible design... my n79 got scratched... theres room between the "door" and the padding of the door that allows particles to get in and it gets scratched very easily.
N79 has the same problem... as does any camera with that crap design.

Lens on my N79 is just fine - no visible scratches or anything.Originally Posted by jm01dc
does anyone know how to prevent the leds from bleeding into the picture? the flash comes in at the side of the picture, is it because of smudge marks?
I just noticed this thread and had to go look at the lens on my N97. Yup, there be scratches on it![]()
But I have not noticed anything affecting the image quality of pics taken, but still a bad thing for the lens cover to be scratching the lens like this![]()
My n79 glass isn't scratched either...its the portion below it. You can actually lift that door off the surface enough for rocks to get in there. It doesn't take a genius to figure out with that kind of spacing, problems are gonna happen.Originally Posted by Rcadden
I guarantee you there are n85's with that problem also.
