That's what I got with unlimited incoming credited and early eve at 5pm.

I just called up...the retention rep was very friendly and got my plan set. Also had $5 1000LD minutes offered but didn't really need it.

ok so i accepted the common plan, but i realized after that i dont have the unlimited incoming i used to have. do we still have 15 days to cancel the new contract? i wasn't on contract before and i just accepted this, but having thought about it, i still dont want to go on contract and unltd incoming is key.

can i cancel?

Yup, you do. Fido's 15 day satisfaction guarantee applies, at least that's what my retention rep told me. Of course, you could always just call back and ask them to tack it on...

You bet. Depending on how much you spend per month and your usage, it will categorize your 'importance', for a lack of better terms, for HUPs and deals... at least, that's how they do it at Rogers

I was reading the old retention threads and found out a number of 'retentioners' were getting 6GB data for $30 and a $10 credit.

1: Is this still available ?

2: Do I have to deal with Retention / Loyalty reps to get this ?

3: Is it BB connect ? (I am currently paying $30 for 1GB BB connect)

My current plan:

You bet. Depending on how much you spend per month and your usage, it will categorize your 'importance', for a lack of better terms, for HUPs and deals... at least, that's how they do it at Rogers

At Rogers yes. Fido, i a wee bit different in my experience...

I have just surpassed the one year mark on a '3yr term'. Within that one year i called retentions about 5-6 times to ask/change stuff.

My bills from the start were 45$ or so, with variances here and there [one month 60$ when in Europe, another 95$, one was under 100$ another over 100$]

Anyways for the last few months i have been enjoying my plan:
400 DT
unlim E&W @ 5pm
Smartphone VP

Breakdown: the base is the EPP [without SAF/911] *was one of the lucky ones that called as soon as 'no frills Fido' came out and the guy simply swapped my [old EPP] plan code for the 'new' one! LOL
200dt for 10$ add on
Smartphone VP - 15$ add on
NO SAF/911
two credits: one 5$, other 10$

This is ~33$/month... I wouldn't mind paying 'more' like above the 40$ plan sounds pretty good!

1. No **it was one member that made a blanket statement. That person was simply awarded a '10$ monthly credit' for a certain period [yes it expires] on their account, not on the feature
2. Yes/No, many would call in to get an additional deal with Ret. dept. But wouldn't happen. When it was around it was simply an 'add-on' so regular CSR would be able to add them.
3. No, it was JUST a 'generic' data. So you had 6gb's on your account, and go nuts type of deal [incl. tethering!]

Thanks Mike ! That saves me from making a call tomorrow morning to Fido just to look silly. On the other hand, I am debating between two retention plans that I have been offered on my 2nd line.

Retention Plan 1:

Base EPP $17.50
200 Day Min

Unlimited Incoming (24 mths credit)

Total: $17.50 + $10 + $11 = $38.50 + tax

Total: $25 + $10 = $35 + tax

*I am giving up F-R & F-RHP in this plan

I will most likely go for Retention Plan 1. Is it a good choice ??

The plan I have right now is really really old. You may even laugh at what I am still paying:

150/Unl. E/WE + F2F + Can.LD $30.00
Expanded Network option $5.00
Fido to Fido/Rogers option $10.00
Voice Messaging + Call Display $9.00
Evenings 5 p.m.-7 p.m. option $7.00
9-1-1 emergency service $0.50
System access fee $6.95

Total: $30 + $5 + $10 + $9 + $7 + $0.50 + $6.95 = $68.45

Everytime when I called Fido to ask for advice for new plans, the CSRs kept on telling me that my F-F Can LD is no longer available and suggested me to keep the plan. Believe it or not, I have this plan for maybe over 4 years now !

I think it is time for me to 'politely' ask for some reasonable deals.

So ... is this the best plan I can get ? I have been a customer for about 3yrs .

I need lots of text and like the unlimited incoming and 1gb data .

Is there a better deal out there ... here is my current plan . which is a 3yr contract that started in Jan.09

$35 Ulimited Incoming/ 100 day mins / Ulimited EVE and WEEKENDS
$16 VALUE PACK : 2500 Texts , 1000 IM's ( DON"T USE ) Enhanced Voice Mail / Call Display , Name Display , Who Called ( All of which are useless on my Unbranded Smartphone !! )

$6.95 SAF

8, $90 for 8G Iphone after Fido dollars deduction

It's a 3 years agreement though.

What do you guys think?? good deal?
