Motorola MOTOROI almost certainly bound for T-Mobile

    Source: ENGADGET

We needed to independently connect and verify a few dots before sounding the alarm here, but sure enough, it looks like Cell Phone Signal has unearthed the best smoking gun yet suggesting Motorola's MOTOROI -- the phone formerly known as the Sholes Tablet -- is destined for T-Mobile USA. The evidence comes in the form of an FCC filing, a Motorola device with ID IHDP56KC6, that's certified for quadband EDGE plus T-Mobile-friendly 1700 / 2100MHz HSPA humming at a peak of 10.2Mbps down and 5.6Mbps up (not too shabby) with Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and magnetic compass. By and large, Moto managed to paint over revealing portions of spectrum analyzer screen shots that contained the product's codename, but there are a couple they forgot to touch -- and sure enough, the part they didn't want you to see reads in part "SHOLES."

So why are we so sure this is the keyboardless MOTOROI as opposed to an AWS-compliant form of the Droid / Milestone, which shared the Sholes name internally? The answer lies in the SAR report, which didn't test the phone's radiated power in both "slider up" and "slider down" configurations like we saw in the Droid's documentation -- there's just one set of figures here. That, of course, means no slider, which in turn means no QWERTY, which ultimately means MOTOROI.

Motorola MOTOROI on sale from FEB

The Motorola MOTOROI has been launched in South Korea and supposedly will be available in the US this spring (March; yes on T-Mobile). It will be on sale in S.Korea from 4th Feb. Good to know, Moto is back..

Motorola has an obsession with the bars. It was 5 over the stock 4 with Android on the DEXT/DEVOUR, now it's 6..

WRT branding, perhaps ZINE ZN8? What with the 8MP camera and point-and-shoot styled design and all...they can't call it DROID XT or anything, because DROID is a VZW trademark (well, technically a Lucasfilm one, but VZW owns the DROID logo).

T-Mobile was the first US carrier with a 5MP phone (the ZINE ZN5) a 5MP full touch phone (the Behold, just a few weeks later) and an 8MP phone (the Memoir). I think they're still the only ones in the US with an 8MP phone...if they release this in a reasonably timely fashion, they'll have the first 8MP smartphone, as well.
I've had Virgin Mobile, Helio, and Sprint-branded service. My quest to use all of Sprint's brands continues!!1?

I don't know, TMO news announced some upcoming device releases and no sign of Motoroi at all. I think they had something listed coming in May sometime. It's starting to look like Motoroi is just wishfull thinking and vaporware.
    Still stuck with G1.

I hope its still going to be released, was really looking forward to this phone. I like my 9700 but the funky 3G radio bothers me. Miss the Cliq's RF but hated the battery life.

This thread is about as dead as my hope of ever seeing Motoroi on TMO...

Sounds good except it is March 26th and not even a peep, so no dice for March me thinks...
I would get it in the hear beat.
The only high end choice on TMO is HD2 for now and I'm not touching WinMo 6.5 with a 10 foot pole.

I just saw that sprint is coming out with HDEVO this summer. Looks like the same specs as the Motoroi only HTC. If this is released before the Motoroi, I'm jumping on it.
