    nTelos PRL File

    Hello all,
I have a BB 8330 that I am currently roaming with outside of the VA area. I need a recent EVDO PRL file. Currently on 1x with PRL:2600. I have all the software required to update.

PS Star code updates don't work because i'm roaming..

Which plan are you currently on? nTelos has two different EvDO PRL's, depending on your plan.

Also, nTelos is not able to guarantee data services will function while off the original nTelos network.

I am currently on a nationwide shared plan, with Blackberry service. I have found the two PRL files from Corolada:

    nTelos
    Nationwide
    Unknown Phones:
    00553 (Unknown)
    02801 (Unknown)

But, neither one are giving me evdo service.. I called nTelos tech support, and asked what the most recent PRL is, with a response of 12801. He did say that I should have evdo service in CT without a problem (he requested a specific address also)

I tried loading a Sprint evdo PRL, which gave the the little 1xev, but then when away.. loaded 2800 back on which is where I started. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, they have given you all incorrect information. First and foremost, nTelos is not able to guarantee EvDO/data when you're outside the original nTelos network, which CT is definately out of the question. Secondly, the correct PRL for the Nation plan EvDO is 22801.

Yes, I have it. You need to unzip it, and it should be the 22801 PRL.

Are you able to access EvDO in CT?

Yes.. and the coverage is excellent.

Side question, does the blackberry tour use gsm also when roaming? or is it restricted to cdma only?

To my knowledge, it will only use CDMA.

First off, are you roaming? Do you know what your prl is currently? on ntelos for Ev service you will want to have 22800 or 22801 as your prl. if you are getting frequent data drops, a quick way to fix that would be to enter your sip password. This will be the hex number or the meid hex. this can be found by dialing #4357* then send. To enter this dial ##000000 send. if you scroll down you will see sip password. enter in your hex, making sure all letters are capitalized, once that is done press in your trackball(or pad) and select save. This will clear up your issue as long as you are on ntelos or roaming on sprint

I could use this as well

Can I get you to send me this PRL file? I have to upload to a Kyocera KPC 680.

Thanks I found out that my prl is 22802, is that ok. I also found out the reason I was having problems with the internet was because I had an IT policy on my phone which I have removed and have not had any problems since.
