Unfortunately I cannot locate a manual in English to advise you how to set the WAP/MMS settings.

    Hello,

Try looking at this page for the English Manual

    http://www.samsungmobile.co.uk/suppo...230&sw_type=UM

The phone is referred to as Tocco Lite. Is yours the T-Mobile Europe or Vodafone version? (Tmo is branded and the Voda only has the boot up branding and the Voda symbol for browser) Or is yours an unbranded version?

I have the Voda version in silver. I was able to enter in the following settings:

    Phone Setting>Connectivity>Access Point: (Data Setting)

    Title: Att
    Bearer: GPRS
    Auth: PAP
    User: [email protected] (all caps)
    Password: CINGULAR1 (ALL UPPERCASE)
    APN: wap.cingular

    Browser>Settings>Profiles: (Internet Setting)

    Service Name: Media Net
    Homepage: http://www.google.com
    Connection mode: TCP without proxy
    IP: (blank)
    proxy: (blank)
    Security: (blank)
    Access Point: ATT

    Messaging>Settings>MMS>MMS center: (MMS setting)

    Title: ATT MMS
    MMSC URL: http://mmsc.cingular.com/
    Connection Mode: TCP with Proxy
    Access point: ATT

I got these from this link

    http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...&page=18&pp=15

I used these settings for both my KU990(Viewty) and my Samsung Tocco (called Star and GT-5230) and they worked (well as well as edge speeds do)

You don't have to select 850, 1900 it knows where it is.

You might have to link those settings to the browser as if it is originally from a carrier it will have their settings set up with the browser by default.

It is a nice phone and I like the fact that it vibrates when you select anything. I also like the widgets in the sidebar.

    Good luck

    L

    Phone frustration

I recently bought the GT-S5230 here in America. Chose AT&T for service and am having the same troubles as yourself. I have contacted Samsung, Samsung Hong Kong and AT&T twice. Everybody refers me elsewhere.

I checked the forum but it is still not working.

I have these settings for my MMS:
    Access name: WAP.CINGULAR
    Auth type: None
User ID: can't access as it's locked or something but looks like it may be [email protected] from above
Password: inaccessible but probably from this thread
    Protocol: HTTP
    Home URL: http://mmsc.cingular.com
    Proxy address: wireless.cingular.com
    Linger time: 120

So what am I doing wrong? And could you please give me the internet settings also?

I would much appreciate the help as the online retailer that sold me this piece of rubbish may not accept a return.

    no luck

Hi, I also have an unlocked S5230 I'm trying to use MMS on AT&T with no luck.... My main problem is that several of the fields simply don't exist in the settings! For example... no bearer, access point, or APN fields are there at all (there's access name but I don't know if that's the same). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
