Still smoking down in the South... Even though we have EV now, I still call us the 1X state since we get 1X speeds still.

Yes, I have complained to them. They say the downtown tower is supposed to be upgraded in Dec with another T-1. Not sure who's bright idea it was to put on T-1 for EV to cover all of downtown with all the state offices and such.

I have another ticket open for a brain dead tower where EV won't even work...it's been like that for a while. Shows EV signal, but finally times out and will work if it flips over to 1X. The 3G they threw in here in July to replace Alltel's leased 3G is a complete mess. Even the guy at the Sprint store says he has been getting nothing but complaints in the past few months, with quite a few returns on EVOs and such during the 14 day test due to data speeds and coverage.

I got this today from a user on a brand new LTE site activation. No words needed.

Love it. First time seeing it myself. And here all this time I thought the people were douches for deleting my posts. Two thumbs up for my official thread! Funny thing is after all these years those speedtests haven't changed. Sprint keeping it real!

What phone is that? 96 dbm is a good signal inless there's a lot of noise. The phone only shows 2 bars though. Interesting.

If that's a new site, looks like the backhaul is MIA.

It's clearly the lack of Spark.

No, it's the typical dead on arrival site activation. The area didn't have LTE and the site spacing is bad, the two little bands of 5x5 don't cut it. Band 41 probably won't be much help since it serves such a large area of the city and 2.5 won't cut it.

Oh so this is with proper backhaul, B25/26 loaded on day one?

Yep, same thing with the adjacent site. It went LTE active in April or May of 2013 and was dead on day 2. Band 26 was added to it a year later and dead as well due to capacity. It is still dead especially on the gamma sector facing the downtown site covering the state capital area and many office buildings. This site is still legacy and will be for a while since the building itself is going through a complete 20 million dollar renovations. Hugest failure ever as they had many other options to cover the downtown area with LTE back 2 years ago. It doesn't bother me anymore and is purely comical, I feel sorry for the customers still dealing with it. I thank this blessing in disguise as it got me to leave and go to a carrier that actually works, plus I saved a good bit of money as well. Win win.

Hold up - Sprint serves the downtown of a city with a tower??? Is it Baton Rouge or another city - I don't think you stated. That's simply a waste - why even have a cell network in whatever town this is?
