Emails on Nexus One: slow and cumbersome?

BB and iPhone user, thinking of finally getting N1. I've read elsewhere on the board that downloading emails on N1 with TMO can sometimes be very slow, even with 3G coverage? l know this is problem with my iPhone (at least older 2G version unlocked and running 3.1.2), nothing beats the BB for emails.

Will I be disappointed with Nexus One? Email accounts are primarily POP3 and not IMAP or gmail.

    Appreciate the feedback.

Pop email is good on the n1. I have no issues with my Comcast account on it. It's set to check every 15 minutes and I've never had a slow download.

Gmail, of course is the fastest, but yahoo works fairly quickly depending on what you set the frequency to

    Wirelessly posted (HTC Touch Pro 2: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; zh-tw; Nexus One Build/FRF50) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

I set up a few email acccounts on the default client and I think it works fine as other mobile clients, so have peace in mind.

It depends on the network in your area. I get gmail messages within a few seconds of sending, it hits even before it hits my desktop. There are not any "slow email" issues with the nexus that I've ever seen out on the web. That would be a specific device issue.
