How was your day during Iphone 4 launch?

Kinda sucks for us. Most of our iphones were upgrades from existing iphone customers and the salescentral issue seriously did not help at all. 2+ hours per upgrade is no fun. I'm really grad all of the customers were REALLY nice to us. Some even offered to get us coffee

Our store did not have any. I had a great day though.

It was the first year I didn't have to work launch day.

Infact I have the entire weekend off. No phone calls!

I have had the pleasure of being on vacation during all 3 iphone launches. Not planned, just turned out that way.

What I don't understand is how systems went down today again at around 4 pm EST even though i'm pretty sure all the iPhone 4's have been sold out?? Salescentral is such a garbage site and running on an even crappier server :@

At Square One Apple the Rogers rep assigned was telling everyone Rogers has been working on upgrading their system but it is a 5 year rollout in it's final year of completion. Ya right same thing will happen next year.

2 hour wait time on the DSG, SIMs took several hours to activate once I got through. By the end of the day, SC was up but slow, and the customer left the store without their SIM active, even after pressing Activate CTN.

    I'm out west.

I was waiting in line to get an iPhone 4 for my brother at 333 Bloor st yesterday, approximately 2:00pm to 2:05pm. It was sold out very fast.

Apparently some customers were peeved that they weren't told they needed their photo-ID to pick up the phones, and left them at home, work, etc. Come on! Who walks around without their photo ID? Especially to do a HUP.

I made my voice heard, told the woman in front of me that it doesn't matter what phone you get, photo ID is required. Also said that anyone with your information can go ahead and HUP and steal your phone. She said, "well you don't know my information." Then told her that it doesn't matter, someone else may, a friend that knows her DOB and postal can even steal it.

Customers get mad that their phones get stolen at the store by someone else doing a HUP in their name, and when they are forced to show ID, they get mad as well.

There's no sense in customers these days. Jeez.

    +1

Our store never got any at launch, but that didn't stop the SM from bringing every comm personnel that works there on the launch shift.
I did PayGo out the wazoo that day. hahah

Weeks after launch SC was still slow as crap and always crashing. Forget about calling DIG either, unless you wanted to wait 30+ minutes.
