Does the iPhone 4 need a screen protector?

The guy at the apple store said it doesnt need one, but anyone have any other advice? Experiences?

Mine does not, but I'd say it depends on how you use it. Some people are rough on their devices and need more protection. The argument for plastic protecting glass from a drop is silly. Anything will break with the right hit on the right material.
My 3G was a nightmare of smudges, but the 4 doesn't seem to get dirty with the same use. I only need a quick shirt swipe once a day and it's perfect.

The only way you'll know is to use it and see how it goes in your hands.

This is a good question. I just got my first iPhone and am wondering the same thing. I did buy a case that covers that covers the edges of the screen and back. I have not put a screen cover on and am not sure I will.

I would. And if you do, I recommend the SGP Ultra Oleophobic. Don't get an anti-glare one. It'll make the clearness of the Retina Display fuzzy.

yes. absolutely. even though the screen is "scratch resistant," that only means so much. you never know when you might accidentally scrape it against something in your pocket, like keys or whatnot. and i dont care if you don't put it in the same pocket as your jeans, because something WILL find its way to the screen. i just started school the other week, and have talked to many other students with the iphone 4 and soooo may have small scratches just from normal wear and tear.

iPhone has a olephobic screen coating meaning that it will resist a good majority of your facial oil. Most iPhone skins don't offer this coating (correct me if im wrong) so why not take advantage of this coating while YOU own the phone?

I've always used one. It doesn't technically need one but I like to play games on it and I see how muchthe protector gets scratched from it, so it's better it's the plastic rather than the glass potentially.

Do you need to wear a condom when your on birth control? No but its an assist and protects against other things.

For me, I leave my iPhone as it came. No case no screen protector. I might put on the bumper once I receive it since it was free but I don't like screen protectors at all. I can live with small hair line scratches.
