    Blackberry 9700 OS 6.0

Any one tired updating their 9700 with the leak of OS 6.0 yet?

What are your reviews of the new OS, bugs, and process used to put it on to your blackberry?

I bricked my 9700 when I took it apart, so I'll have to rely on you guys to let me know how it runs.

So far so good on my end, I'm quite impressed.

Universal search is great, love the new notification system, the OS is quick and responsive. I've only run into a few bugs with some non OS 6 supported apps thus far, but I suspect that will change as they update in the coming weeks/months.

Stop the worrying. This thing is SMOOOTH and its worth it. Get your Webkit Engine groove on; its NOT a theme so trust it. Remember its a leak - so its something RIM already created and its .326 so its stable enough. I'm running it on the corporate 9700 and I can tell you its holding up pretty good. I'm enjoying this better than the Torch.

There STILL needs to be some refinements:
LARGE scrolling lists when selecting drop down menu's - i.e. craigslist - when in the for sale section, changing from Cellphones to say furniture ... when you click that drop-down list it takes up 90 percent of the screen. Transitions are quick as is the pop-up contextual menu's. DOH I forget to check the Social Feeds.

Loving it so far. Smooth for the most part. Quick and responsive, too. I'm only having one problem that maybe you all can help me with. In my Social Feeds application, only Twitter, BBM, and Windows Live appear. Facebook won't appear in my feeds even though I have it installed. I did a battery pull and it still won't show up. Any suggestions?

the moment I have a chance, upgrade will be done. this was 'released' way faster than I thought. lolz

not a fan of reading "memory leak", so i'm a bit skeptical, but I don't mind...

I did it on my 9700 today

    upgrade took 20 min

remember to backup your data and service books!

its so smooth and fluid, no more freezes

as far as memory goes, i had 115mb with os5.0 with google maps, poynt, scoremobile, and td apps installed

    now im getting 90

so it takes up more memory but i think its worth it

There is a leak, yes. After having the device on for 12+ hours since my last reboot, I was down to about 43MB free. Didn't notice any performance issues though. After a reboot, I'm sitting at about 73.5MB free with the following apps installed/running:
    - Latest Facebook 1.9 beta
    - RIM Twitter client
    - Gtalk
    - BerryWeather/BerryReader (latest OS 6 beta's from Bellshare fourms)
    - SocialScope
    - Evernote
    - GoogleMaps
    - GoogleSync
    - KeePassBB2
    - PageOnce Personal Assistant
    - ScoreMobile for BB

Here's a few of the bugs I've found with certain apps:
    - A number of the applications have a context menu copy/paste issue. I can't pull up the option to 'paste' text on the clipboard by hitting the BB logo.
    - Apps like the TD banking app don't show the 'mouse' cursor, so it's near impossible to select buttons/text-input fields
    - frequently when browsing via wifi, I get a 'server not found' connection issue and I have to disconnect from wifi and re-connect. I never get this issue when using the 3G data network
    - Also, when browsing images frequently don't load (little red x's) refreshing the page does nothing.
    - Links in SocialScope created via URL shorteners (bit.ly) don't open, nor do I get the option with the context menu to 'open link with alternate browser' like I had in OS5.
    - No context menu options exist within the native Gmail app either (ie: can't search)

These are minor quibbles right now, I'm sure they'll get ironed out shortly. I'll just need to keep an eye out for app updates.
