Question Problems with my Samsung R355C. Restore factory settings?

Lately I've been having some issues with my Samsung R355C. I don't know if I got some moisture in it or what but lately the light stays illuminated all the time and sometimes I'll have to dial quite a few times to get a call to go through.

I have tried removing the battery and putting it back in to not using it for a day or two and nothing seems to work. I was thinking of trying to restore to factory settings to see if that does anything but I have a few questions first.

In your experience, does resetting the phone to factory settings ever solve some problems for you or is it usually a waste of time? Also... will I lose my contact list and everything if I chose to do this?

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thank You

If you have some moisture in the phone, you might want to take as much of it apart as possible like removing the battery and the case cover, and letting it sit in a bowl of uncooked rice. Completely immerse the phone in a full bowl of rice and leave it overnight. It will absorb any moisture. That might help.
